Just have to share. After a five month long battle with the Texas Department of Health and Human Resources, my Grandmother has finally been approved for Medicaid!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if everyone knows of my situation, but my grandmother is in my care at a nursing home after breaking her hip 2 years ago. We've been battling Texas Medicaid here for five long months about getting her qualified, and it's been a struggle the whole way (for something they claim takes 30-45 days). We've had battle after battle, they've lost paperwork multiple times, denied us once for something THEY did, and were just the biggest pain. But I have to say that I'm so very thankful that this particular government entity is available to older folks who have lived through their savings and income and property and still need help to live in a medical environment since there's no way that I can take care of her here because of the needs that have developed since the fall.
