Default class size rant update.

It appears I was not the only parent venting and some must have been far more open about it then I was.

they are adding one more K teacher, bringing us up to 7.

This will reduce class sizes to 21-22.

They are only putting 12-14 in the new class since the teacher will have LESS time to bond with the kids since the year is 1/2 over.

WE decided not to request the new teacher because Will really loves his teacher and I don't think would do well with the change.

I also talked to a mom about the GT program at our school. If he "passes" the tests he will be in advance classes the entire year, not just for an hour or so a week. There is one GT teacher per grade and the kids are all together....PLUS there are several after school programs ONLY for GT.

I'm not 100% sure I like what I've heard. It appears the GT kids are put on a pedestal and offered things NO ONE else is.

I've heard they get cocky and an "I'm better then the rest of you" attitude. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THAT! I hope the incidenets I heard about are a rare few.
