Default Are you an obsessive review reader

prior to making purchases on things like appliances.. or well anything at all?

I've been trying to look at air purifiers because we always deal with such bad wildfire smoke in the summer and our kitchen transfers all the cooking smells to our bedroom which I hate

HOWEVER I may just not end up with anything because I read so many reviews that I get confused and I never feel confident about anything to purchase.

I have the shark air purifier and really like it. I do laugh when I cook though, it's so dramatic. It will go from 100% air quality to like 10% as soon as I start cooking and try cleaning the air ASAP. lol

interesting, I hadn't seen that one - it is pricier, but you really never have to change the filter?

I haven't changed it yet and I got it for Christmas like 2 years ago.

I do read reviews but I try to not take everything as it is. If majority reviews are positive, I'd take it as a yes. I bought an air purifier for my parents during covid, it's a Japanese brand 'Sharp' if I remember correctly... and that one you can just wash the filter clean when it's dirty.

I do read a lot of reviews but I try to go with the overall consensus. There will always be bad reviews for good products and vice versa. I have learned to view reviews on Amazon by "most recent" though. There have been a few times when the product quality seemed to change drastically on something, but the plethora of older good reviews were what showed up.

YES!! All the time (ok, EVERY time) on Amazon...like, it's a problem. I spend way too much time debating whether to buy things or which brand and sometimes I get annoyed at myself & just close all my window tabs without deciding, LOL. I'm too indecisive as it is, mixed reviews are no help.

I usually read reviews. I read the bad ones first. Oftentimes, they are stupid, like giving 1 star for the package being late or something that has nothing to do with the product itself. One thing that I have been paying attention to is when it says something like "there have been a number of complaints about this product." I usually move on.

Good luck finding an air purifier!

I do this, too. If the negative ones are stupid or not really negative (love the "great product - highly recommend" 1-star reviews ), I don't bother reading the positive ones. I just want to know if the product sucks.

We recently purchased an Afloia air purifier off Amazon due to mold in our NEW basement... super fun times. But, it has been wonderful. Any brand with a HEPA filter should work with smoke. Good luck with your search!

I am a total over-analyzer and take forever to buy anything. I have really tried to focus on being a "satis-ficer" but it goes against my instincts.
