Default TV Land: High School Reunion

Anyone else watch this and feel old as the hills? It's amazing how fast 20 years can go by isn't it?

I was thinking about high school and my old friends and what "types" we were. I was definitely the "good girl". I was popular - I was a cheerleader and dated the football player etc., but I didn't drink/smoke or the other "bad stuff" like all my friends did. My parents were both teachers at my high school which was difficult lol especially since my dad taught me and all my friends for 3 years.

I haven't seen or heard from most of my high school friends since the day we graduated.

So what "type" were you in high school? Do you still keep in touch with those friends?

I was a good girl/jock. I had a lot of friends who were all in different cliques.

I talk to 2 people from High School. One is my BFFE and the other is just a down to earth fantastic woman.

I have no desire to stayed connected anyone else. It's all fake anyway, and I have no time for that nonsense anymore.

I don't keep in touch with many, just a handful, and they are what I would consider casual acquaintances now.

I was not a good girl, but I wasn't a bad girl either, I did a few things, but I dated the same guy from age 15 to 19. I also did a bit of underage drinking, but nothing serious. I was in the band, but I don't think I was a band geek LOL. I was Most Valuable Player in our band in my graduating year, so ok, I guess I was a bit of a band geek LOL.

I was voted most wild!!!!

But I was actually a pretty good girl, I think I was just the type of girl that was outspoken, never took crap from anyone and always told you "how it was"!!! I was also pretty daring and never backed down from a dare!!! I did drink a bit (with 4 older brothers...who wouldn't ) but I have never once smoked or took any drug...even to this day.

All the girls I was "frineds" with in high school I haven't talked to since graduation day......since then there has been one or 2 tht I have chatted with when I ran into them....but I haven't kept in touch with anyone!!!

Although I was involved in lots of different extra-currics in HS, I had three really close friends. Of those three, I have not talked to one since college, and the other two are BFFs with one another and live abt 20 mins and 45 mins, respectively, from me. I'm friends with all three on Facebook, but never see them or otherwise talk with them. I'm not really in touch with anyone else from HS though I love to peruse random Facebook pages of theirs when I run across them.

I was definitely a good gurl: never attended a high school party, never drank, never smoked, never cursed, never had s*x, etc. I was involved in all academic extra-currics and my church.

I mostly miss my college clique. There were 6 of us that did absolutely everything together all four years... until I met my ex-husband. They hated him and were upset with me when I chose to marry him, so they stopped talking to me shortly after college graduation. When we split up almost 3 years ago, I found a couple of them through MySpace and messaged them an apology and explanation. Their responses were lukewarm at best. This past Spring, they made Facebook pages, found me, and Bossy, the only one who lives out of state, invited us all to a dinner in June when she would be in town. I found out that of the 6 of us, four had stayed in contact since college, and I and another gurl had 'fallen off the face of the earth' after marriage.

I tried my best at dinner to be nice and upbeat, bygones be bygones and all that, but Bossy tried to humiliate me by calling me out at the table while we ate demanding an apology/explanation for my failed marriage. I'm sure I posted abt it here and/or on my blog.

I had two awkward dinners with one and her children a couple times and invited everyone except Bossy to take a trip back to our alma mater for a show, but no one's made any effort to see me, speak to me, or hang out with me except a random Facebook status reply every now and again. Three of them live in Indy or a suburb thereof, so it's not like it would take much effort.

It's just sad to me when we are all so close for so many years. I haven't had a group of female friends or even any really close gurlfriends since then, and I miss it.

i totally want to see this show. i need to tiVo it.

i was the lizzy in highschool. lmbo. no really. i was the christian with a complex. a lot of church. not enough 'real stuff' talk with the parents. so i got into my fair share of trouble. actually never really got into trouble...just always felt very bad! never drugs. never sex. A LOT of making out. a lot of parties. fair share of drinking and smoking. then right back to church on sunday to plead for forgiveness. thing is, i was a varsity volleyball player. popular chick. so it was SOOOO hard not to give in to that crap. sooo hard and my parents didn't really talk with us about that stuff. anywho...that was me. nice huh? lmbo!!! oh and i got really good grades. oh...and i got knocked up my senior year by my CHURCH boyfriend who was in BIBLE COLLEGE at the time. and who's parents are MISSIONARIES. what. in. the. world. dude...i totally graduated though. with a pretty decent GPA.

is everyone laughing yet?

I was a nobody in school. A wallflower. The person who had friends in many cliques but didn't belong to any. I went to 5 high schools and just didn't make friends easily. But in college I decided that I was NOT going to be that person any more so I forced my self to be more out going and stand up for my self. I loved college I had great friends and had a blast. I have friend from HS and college on facebook but IRL I don't see any one. I also would never go back and do it again. Either one.

I didn't see the show.. I was clicking through last night and saw a commercial but it didn't catch me lol..

uhm.....

lol la in highschool... lordy.

I was the girl who smoked in the bathroom and lit things on fire in there while I was at it.
The one who skipped out on classes and hung out in said bathroom again.. and tried to run away 500 times. I was moody and angry.. and everyone knew it.
I drank too much, I smoked too much, I wore thigh high boots and little pleather skirts, and my actions followed my appearance pretty damn well
I shaved my head right before graduation just because .... and was always there to tell you off. I hated everyone, and everything... and was a band geek all at the same time. ^_^

I was fun. hahaha. I talk to some of my friends from HS.. but not really. None of us are close anymore. Life changed...... I got pregnant and got married... and none of them knew how to deal with that haha. Now that i'm single again, and being me (well..... a more controlled responsible me) some of them are drifting back into my life again.

eh...HS....it wasn't a horrible time for me, nor was it a wonderful time either. I was a "nobody". I was friends with the Jocks AND the Stoners. My BFFs smoked, so I hung out in the Smoking Section at school, but never got labeled as a Stoner. I was in the band, played soccer and was on the school newspaper (I was the Sports Editor - hence, I knew all the Jocks). I got good grades and basically never got into trouble.
I've seen my BFF from High School a couple times - most recently in 2004. But, we're both so different now...it's just not the same.
On the other hand, the person I see/talk to the most - we've been friends since Junior High. She moved to Texas, then to New Jersey while we were in HS (her Dad worked for Pan Am). We lost touch for about 10 years, but when we connected back up 15 years ago, it was like we never lost touch. We talk EVERY day (good thing we're both on ATT wireless LOL!).
There are a couple people I would love to find out what they're up to now, but I have no burning desire to see anyone from my HS.

haha. i love it. you were that ballsy chick in the girls bathroom that seemed super cool, but was too illusive to start conversation with.

i should add that HS was a blast for me, i would do it again in a heartbeat.

oh, i am still really good friends with just like 4 peeps from high school. still email/talk with them regularly.
