Default Firefox is running so slowly

that I don't even want to be online. Do you get how slow that must be?! Has anyone else ever had this problem and can give me some hints? I ran avast-no virus. I downloaded the newest version-still not faster. My computer is running normally in all other programs. But FF is making me want to log off forever. And while I know my husband wouldn't complain about that, I DON"T LIKE THAT SOLUTION.

Ive never had "slow" issues with it and it's always run just fine for me. Great bookmark bar too at the top that you can customize.

Do you have a mac? it comes standard on those.

I just recently added FF and it is working great for me. I am actually surprised how much faster it is than IE. I hope I don't start having problems with it cause I was just starting to love it

Is it Firefox that is running slow or is it possibly just your internet?

Firefox slowed down like that for me before it died a horrific death. It was taking 5-10 minutes just to get Firefox to start. Then the same page opened in FF, IE and Chrome--well, FF was always the slowest. Sometimes three to four times slower. One day, it just stopped working. I haven't found a fix for it yet, so I switched to Chrome. I miss FF.

FF - love it, but it does have it's gremlins - the things I've found to speed it up: clearing the cache, clearing cookies, dumping (mostly) all but the windows installed fonts (i'm on a PC) off my op drive and using a font manager... HTH...
