Who has WildBlue internet?
Pros/Cons? We're looking at moving into a house next month but our only internet option is WildBlue, which is a little stressful....anyone have this? Or other satellite internet?

Never heard of it hon, sorry. I've heard bad things about satellite internet though.... which is the reason we still keep Comcast.

Yeah I saw all that but you can google and the same crap comes up for comcast, which I've never had major issues with...

Are you moving to the boonies?? LOL!
We looked into satellite last year to try and avoid using comcast, and it's WAY expensive.

no not really, they just don't have the fiberoptic wires out there because we're in the foothills and comcast doesn't care about us LMAO

Oh, so no DSL. That sucks. Usually at least 1 company will have run lines. (Comcast had them for DSL for us, but Verizon didn't. Weird.)

We've had nothing but issues with Comcast. I hate them.

We have satellite internet because we DO live in the boonies. lol We have a regional one not WildBlue but we looked at them when we signed up. The only complaint I've had is that we lose internet during inclement weather (heavy snow, heavy rain, etc.) but that's typical of anything satelliteelated. And it's a whole lot better than our other option - dial up!

We had HughesNet (was DirecWay before that) for a period of time (before they had DSL out here) and I hated it. Not only did it go out if the weather was bad, but they themselves had a limit on how much you could upload/download. Some kind of fair share thing. The only "free" period was from 2am to 5am. And when you upload/download a lot like we do in the scrap world, it really sucks. So I would check to see if they have any policies on this. I was so happy to be able to get DSL here and haven't looked back since. I hope to never have to deal with satellite again!

yeah they have that too but the higher package you buy, the higher the limits and the one I was looking at was 12 gigs download and 3 upload

That is good if they have higher packages! There wasn't too many options at the time we had HughesNet and it really sucked. Also, we have satellite TV and the internet would go out in bad weather easier than the TV. The beam for the internet satellite is smaller than the TV satellite so it is easier to interupt (my hubby was a installation tech for DirecTV at one time lol). But I would sooo hate to go back to dial up so I would prob deal with it all! LOL!
