Default Present for 11yo Girl Help!

So my daycare is sponsoring some under priv'd families for Xmas. There was a big tree with wishes posted on it and silly me thinking it would be fun to shop for a girl picked an 11 yo. I know nothing about this girl so I don't know if she has a computer and I doubt she has a game system or an ipod or cell phone and I have no idea what her size is so I have no clue what to buy! Anyone want to give me a few ideas please?

TIA!

anything fun like bubble bath, nail polish, hair things, think about the things that girls like but she prolly doesn't have the money for. that is what i did one year for a 12yro through church and you would have thought i owned the earth with the way she acted. it brought tears to my eyes. she had never had bubble bath or nail polish.

My 11 year old is TOTALLY into artsy stuff -- she loves those little sets like for friendship bracelets or t-shirts or whatever.

She doesn't do much in the way of toys anymore (except for Webkinz which is out if you don't know if this girl has a computer).

I agree about things like bubble bath, nail polish, lip gloss, hair accessories.

My daughter also loves the teen mags (think Tiger Beat) with all the posters that she can pull out and cover her walls with.

I was going to say, hit up Libby or Lizzy, they both have total dolls around the same age. You can never go wrong with a diary, either... when I was eleven having something I could write my thoughts in and LOCK was a HUGE deal to me. <3

Maddie is diggin on the American Girl Smart Girl's Guide books. Not the ones about the actual dolls, but like The Smart Girls Guides, Just Mom and Me and Tear Up This Book!.

Also Webkinz, they all lurve Webkinz. The new little deer is precious.

The Coke or Pepsi Books are awesome.

Most are not that much into Hannah Montana anymore but are way into The Jonas Brothers. Their new CD would go over well. This On Tour Jonas Brothers book would also be a hit!

Some cute Target Hoodies. Cute winter hats are popular!

Yes, also agree with the artsy stuff. Maddie loves paper scrapbooking!

Sara, I got no wishlist, that would have been too easy!

Libby thanks, I think I may just go with that or the 'girly' stuff!

Thanks girls!

great suggestions elizabeth!! love those socks!!

hey pam...keep in mind with that 'girly stuff' that a lot of girls are on 'girly stuff' overload, imo. i think a lot of that cutsey lotion, nail polish, lip glossy stuff just gets lost in the shuffle.

wait, are these underprivilaged as in not having money and being very poor? that is the type that our church adopted for one year, maybe i misunderstood what your daycare was doing.

Yes, I believe it is the 'very poor' nature and that is why they are doing it.
