crazy stuff
I am watching the news today and see the American military has the boat that is holding the captain of the ship that was hijacked by pirates surrounded. It is crazy that there is even the possibility of pirates in this day and age. I know they say there is a real problem in the area this ship is but you dont hear about this kind of thing all the time. I am just praying that the pirates release the captain unharmed.

Actually - I hear about it all the time. This area has really ramped up in the last couple of years and pirating is BIG now.
I do hope they're able to rescue the Captain with no loss of life or harm.

It's sad that we romanticize pirates and pirating but they're really no joke. It's strange to think this is how the average citizen felt about pirates back in the 1600-1800s...how they were a thing to be feared and brought to justice.
I will still love POTC though. LOL!!!!

yes...i agree it is kinda strange!! I live surrounded by water and never get any stories about it here in Florida. I cannot honestly remember ever hearing about it being a problem here

that is so scary! And I confess that this is why we haven't gotten into the pirates thing around here...I'm a fuddy duddy, lmao!
I so hope that the captain is let go without any harm!

The article I read said that the captain offered himself up so his crew would go free. It just makes me sad to think that money is so important to some people.

yea Lizzy I knew it still existed but it isnt something you hear about alot. The way they are talking about it is it is like an everyday thing in the world. It could just be that I only really watch the local news and for about the last 9 months all they have been interested in it seems is Casey Anthony. I am really tired of hearing about her and her parents. I wanted to hear about it when there was a possibility her little girl was still alive somewhere but now it just makes me angry everytime I hear her name mentioned.
