Default in need of a recipe please :)

Lilly's birthday is on July 16th, and we are doing a Jessie from Toy Story/general cowgirl theme I was thinking of making baked beans and pulled pork sandwiches (hotdogs for the kiddos too) but I have never actually made baked beans from scratch before *hangs head in shame*

Anyone have any EASY and tried to true recipes to share?

so much work..lol

we like Bush's baked beans here..I like the Original, Onion, or Brown Sugar ones. If I'm feeling um..not lazy? I'll throw them in the oven with some bacon for a bit but I haven't made any I like better than those and they are so easy so I stick to them

I tried making baked beans once and failed miserably. I just buy the canned Bush's baked beans. I think the homestyle or maple type? There are like five (or more LOL) varieties and I usually add a little ketchup/mustard/maple syrup to the beans to give it a little more flavor

Sorry here too. Open Bush's can. Heat. Serve.

Your party theme sounds like heaps of fun though. Hope you share some photos.

Seriously everyone loves these!!! They are easy too. Dutch oven in the oven!

2 (No. 2 1/2) big cans pork-n-beans, drained
1 lb. bacon, cooked, and cut into pieces
1 med onion
1 large green pepper
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. ketchup
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. molasses

Cook at 325 for 3 to 4 hours or in a slow cooker. Seriously so good!

I used Bush's baked beans, too, but I doctor them up. Put some onion, brown sugar, bacon and the littlest bit of mustard in there. It's fast, but still has that homemade touch.

Well since half of my family won't touch them, I only do the canned kind. Bush's maple flavor. Sigh. Pioneer Woman's looks good, but I'd rather make a dessert!
