A question for LPs
How do you all store your info/notes/journal stuff until you get time to scrap it?
A notebook? Planner? Something else? I'm starting up PL in 2015 and need to find a way to keep everything handy for when I get the time to scrap it.

I use a phone app called Diaro which syncs with my computer. For longer entries, I sometimes just type a Word document. I store the week's notes in the folder with my pics and can just cut and paste onto my PL or regular LO. I used to have a million little post its and paper scraps, but this works better for me. No more fear of losing my notes

I have a paper planner plus apps on my phone. I also have just basic 8.5x11 page protectors in a binder labeled 1-53 with sharpie on them and if I find anything I need to stick in, I just slide it in there. Then when I go to work on a week, I open my planner, the binder, and my PL album out on my desk and just combine.

I use my paper planner and apps... Plus, I take a picture each day that really remind me of what was going on.

I have done it a couple of ways.
When I was doing a "paper" book, I kept a binder like Jen with one page protector/week and I would just throw the stuff in there til I was ready to use it. Now that I am all digital of PL, I scan everything - tickets, kids' art work, miscellaneous schoolwork here & there, receipts or labels, restaurant business cards, etc. Just anything that could be fun to add "flavor" to the book or jog my memory. I save those files to the same monthly chronological folders I use for my photos. So, when I go to scrap the photos, all the other stuff is right there too. For both approaches, I use just a regular annual calendar/planner things that I keep around to jot notes in. Sometimes I remember and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'll go back and fill in info from a week or month ago. It's better than nothing! I tried an app for this but I never remembered to use the app - it helps me to have the hard-copy planner sitting there on my desk to remind me. |

I email myself daily with a moment, story or something from the day I want to remember and keep it in its own folder. Other than that, I am a mess!

I have a classic journal (= blank book) and am writing in it all day. Since I have a daily PL and put a lot of feelings and moods in there, I need a place where I can write these things down first hand. So I carry my journal with me everywhere and take notes whenever I feel like it.

I was using Oh Life, until I just got the email that they are closing. I liked it because it sent me an email everyday at 5PM and all I had to do was reply to it and it kept it in a diary form in chronological order!! Then when I went to scrap my week - all I did was go to the website and everything I needed was right there!!
Since it's closing thought I've bought myself a composition book and I'm going to try it that way. I also use Momento - it's an app - it pulls all my feeds from instagram, FB and my blog and stores them in one spot. I also rely on text that I send and receive and my photos too!!

My first stop is always my photos and I tell the stories associated with them.
Next I check my Google calendar to see what I did during the week. I also check my Instagram photos, Facebook posts, texts sent, and emails sent. |
