Default Mid-Month Challenge Check-in

How are you all doing?

How many challenges have you done or how many do you have left?

Any one that is sticking out as hard or challenging for you?

What's your favorite layout that you've scrapped so far for this month's challenges?

I have 7 done, which is much better than I've been doing the last several months.

I think the toughest ones for me this month are art journaling & primary colors.

I'm at 7 too- just finished one today!

My favorite so far is #18 scraplift:

I'm struggling with the Eureka OLW :/

I just finished up today. Not sure how long I will keep this pace up but going with it for now. Eventually I will hit a brick wall where I just stare at PS.

The hardest one for me was the journaling one.

Honestly, I haven't even looked at the challenges yet. I think I might have saved myself a spot in the list, but other than that I haven't had time to read through them to try to plan the month out.

Took a minute for me to decide on the Stash one #17. But now I only have 2 challenges left.
11 and 16 both easy for me!

I've only got a few done and don't expect to finish them all but I'm ok with that. I'm on a shopping freeze for awhile since I won't be working much next month and almost no pay for the month so don't need a coupon. I'll just play along for fun for a few of the challenges but the next few months are going to be budget saving for me.

Yeah I noticed you didn't do it and know you were busy last night with J's birthday!

The Primary Color one I've not even thought about---I hate primary colors and am hoping I can pull that one off, last minute of course!

Oh Amy!!!! WOW!!! That's gorgeous!!! Share your shadowing secrets!!

I had to look up the definition of Eureka to be able to figure out how I wanted to use it in my layout.
By definition, it means "A cry for joy when one discovers something".
With that, I used that as my inspiration for a travel page and the excitement we had while driving out West for the very first time! We didn't say "eureka", but we sure had the definition as we took in the wonders before our eyes during that vacation
https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com...travel&cat=500

Maybe that will help you?

We all have months like that!!! I hope you are able to find some time to sit and scrap, even if it isn't for the challenges! I love seeing your layouts in the gallery!

Oh I'll have to check out your gallery and find your #17 layout!!!
And yes, those two aren't that bad---you saved the easiest one for last--the Anything challenge!!

Yay for getting some done. That's completely understandable that you won't be stressing to get yourself finished if you know you aren't going to spend your coupon. I've done that, especially when we moved. I can't wait to see the layouts that you are scrapping filling the gallery!

Yes! That's a great way to use the word! Thank you! Shadow secrets... lol! I make a new layer & use black & white brushes at 10% opacity to shadow/highlight... that's all I've got! Ha!

I have currently finished 8 of them! So proud of myself since I went all summer not doing any of the Passport challenges!

I have a few ideas for some of the challenges I have left, but I know I'm not going to finish blackout! I'm ok with that! Any layout finished is a good thing at this point!

I think the hardest ones/ones I won't do this month are OLW-Eureka (it's not a word I would use in my typical everyday occurance, so I can't think of a way to scrap it), Favorite Life lesson, currently wondering, and dialogue/conversation. Hmmmm, I see a pattern! As much as I enjoy journaling on my pages, I don't like my journaling to be planned ahead of time! Maybe I'll have to work on that moving forward!

Good luck to all of you trying to get Blackout!

yep, I managed to get them all done. Granted I didn't get other stuff I should have been doing done, lol. Also, keep in mind I don't have young children or a husband. This is an anomaly, may not be the same next month.

I'm glad you'll still be scrapping, Rae. I've been in that budget freeze spot. It's a good time to use things from your stash!

Thank you for picking up the slack!

I love your Eureka LO!! I think I'm going to use a Disneyland photo (California Adventure to be more exact). I think "Eureka" is painted on the side of the rapids ride (my mind is blank right now!).

Amie... I would LOVE to see a video, too!!

I've done 10 so far, I need to get my finger out and stop procrastinating!

This one would be my favourite

I've never met a kid who loves school as much as this one does - and he was so excited and happy to be going back to school - we had to make a detour to the hospital first though to visit mum so she could see him on his first day back

I don't think completing them all is going to happen for me this month :/ I try and incorporate them into things I need to scrap for my albums and I'm just having a hard time making it work this time!

This month, I've had to shift my focus from scrapping to sewing. My daughter-in-law's baby shower is the first weekend of October, and I'm trying to get several projects sewn up to give to her.

But in-between sewing tasks, I'm grabbing a smidge of scrapping time. I won't get the passport completed this month, but I'll get a couple pages done.

Well, I haven't done ONE yet so not good so far for me

I don't even know where my time has gone because apart from losing a bit of weight I haven't achieved much else LOL. I'm going to open PS tonight once the kids are asleep I think and see if I can make something I like

I only have 4 done. I'm not going to finish this month. Traveling half the month makes it tough. But hey, I'll have lots of great photos to scrap next month!
Thanks for the eureka definition - that does make it easier! The hardest for me would probably be the smashbook.

Sorry for your loss Tanyia

I have 5 to go, but they are the ones that I knew I would struggle with, so not sure if I'll get them done.

I'm sorry to hear about your father, Tanyia. Scrapping helped me when my dad passed.

I'm done with 12. There is no way that I'm going to finish, so I'm happy that I got that many completed.

I still have six to complete - I might try and do a couple tonight while I bake pumpkin bread and relax! But holy moly what an insane couple of weeks at work! Almost too tired to scrap!

I think the hardest ones/ones I won't do this month are OLW-Eureka (it's not a word I would use in my typical everyday occurrence, so I can't think of a way to scrap it), Favorite Life lesson, currently wondering, and dialogue/conversation. Hmmmm, I see a pattern! As much as I enjoy journaling on my pages, I don't like my journaling to be planned ahead of time! Maybe I'll have to work on that moving forward!

Good luck to all of you trying to get Blackout!
That's awesome given HOW busy you are this summer and now back to school season!!!

I too struggle with the planned journaling ahead. It makes it a little bit challenging because, you know, I always scrap the photos LAST (half the time I don't even know what photos i'm going to scrap!) So to factor in journaling is always difficult for me as well!!

six is great!!! I hope life settles down for you this coming weekend and you find yourself some time to scrap, even if it is one or two layouts!

Still very impressive!! Such a fast scrapper!!

There should be a $5 prize for the FIRST person to post their completed passport in the gallery!! Wouldn't that be an amazing incentive???

10 is very impressive!!
I loved your layout!!! He sounds like my oldest when she was younger--she was always doing school at home, teaching her sister, even in the summertime when there was no school!! I'm so sorry to hear about his mother. I hope everything is okay with her and she's home from the hospital!

I saw you posted the video before our internet went out!! Thank you for posting it. After all of our doctor appointments, I hope to sit down and watch it.

It sounds like you have a plan and know what you are going to do this month!!! That wishlist...I had to ask for help to fill mine up. I have stuff in there, but with DSD and Black Friday coming, I know I'm going to blank and not get anything because I won't have much to pick from in my wishlist!!

I completely understand that!! I try to make my ct layouts fit with my challenge layouts. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. But a layout made is a layout finished, whether it's for the challenge or yourself!! I'm so glad to see you back and scrapping again, don't know if I told you that!

I want to see!!! Share your amazing talent with us!!!

Thanks for the eureka definition - that does make it easier! The hardest for me would probably be the smashbook.
I can't wait to see how you scrap all of those photos!! Scrapping and traveling at the same time is VERY hard!! Even if you don't do the smashbook this month, try it because I think you'd rock it!!

I am so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in our prayers as you try to find closure and comfort in his passing! I hope you can find the time to sit down and scrap this weekend and find the relaxation that I'm sure you really need

I have 5 to go, but they are the ones that I knew I would struggle with, so not sure if I'll get them done.
Which ones are you struggling with? Maybe we can help you?
Have you checked the Inspiration thread?

I'm done with 12. There is no way that I'm going to finish, so I'm happy that I got that many completed.
That's awesome!! 12 is an impressive number!! I'm so glad you were able to finish so many!!

You can do it!!! Mmm, pumpkin bread!! My daughter would have been all over you for that. She's been craving pumpkin since someone brought a pumpkin spice latte to one of her classes!!! Here's to a stress-free weekend, hopefully including scrapping!

I'm down to 3 now (leaving love is easy so really I have 2 to go) I'm scrapping the things that I need to scrap instead of trying to work them into the challenges. The 2 I need to do are photography and quote - I'm going to have to use a stock image for the photography one - and I have an idea for the quote one - I might get them done today

yeah I have that photography one as well. I was trying to photograph the cats today but they weren't having it!! Hopefully I can photograph them and scrapbook them.

I also have the school one to do again. School's been in session almost two months and I have no more photos to scrap, so I've been putting that one off!

I'm officially done with this month. Gearing up in my head for October.
Also I can't believe it will be October 2019....seems like I just finished 2018.
