Default Just wondering

How long do you work on an average layout?
Because I see so many beautiful layouts by people who almost post every day! I spent mostly 2-3 hours on one layout and then I use a template! Can you imagine how long it would take if I had to invent the wheel first!

I made 7 layouts this month, an absolute record....

I would say two to three hours is a pretty fair estimate for me, too... if I get one done in closer to an hour, I'm thrilled!! I find that using a template isn't always faster, just because sometimes there are so many pieces/layers to work with. Also, I can get 90% of the layout done and then spend another hour trying to make one little thing perfect...ugh!

Oh that's true! I am pretty quick ready with all papers....but then the embellishments take me forever! But hey...we are busy and off the streets! (this is a common saying in Holland but I don't know if my translation is that perfect, LOL)

I would say usually a couple hours depending on the amount of clustering (takes me forever).. I average 1-2 layouts a day usually.

Some layouts take me half an hour, some four or five hours... it depends on my subject matter or distractions or how intricate the layout is... shadowing takes me the longest!

But, usually, the average is around 2 hours...

It doesn't take me too long, usually 1-2 hours. The thing that takes me the longest is shadowing. I usually create 5-7 layouts a week, then I spend an entire day shadowing them all.

1-3 hours, but I'm totally a perfectionist and spend most of the time moving things around. The ones that usually take me the longest time are the ones using a template or the clean and simple ones... I know that seems weird, lol. It also depends on the journaling for me, sometimes I just have a ton to say and since I'm working with PSE, it isn't always easy to get things right since I can't create my own text paths. I averaged 2 a day in 2010, but I'm planning to slow down and only average 1 a day.

I'll make you feel better. Days! LOL! My hybrid layouts take me forever. It's something I'm working on.
I haven't done an all digital page in FOREVER, and especially not one that isn't a template, but I average close to 3 hours or so with those.

One hour. If it takes me longer than an hour and a half, I usually am having trouble getting it to come together and I'll throw it out and maybe try scrapping that pic some other time.

I'm another 30-60 minutes kinda person. I've pulled one together in about 15 or 20 before. I'm a mom of three kiddos; if I can't get it done in that kind of time-frame, it's probably not going to be able to get done. But I also do let pages sit in PSE for a while if I can't finish it right away.

Was also going to say that the longer I scrap, the faster I get. I have my own shadowing technique down to a pretty quick science. I use keyboard shortcuts (well, I'll have to re-learn some of those now that I'm using a Mac). It makes it faster.

If I can get a LO done in 1-2 hours I am happy. Usually a little longer than that though...Shadowing and titles always take me forever. I would say I am "title challenged"

Forty-five to a hour and half. If I'm inspired it goes quick and if I'm struggling, I just toss the page and start over. I hate forcing pages.

My time is limited and precious LOL. If it doesn't get done in an hour or less it goes unfinished for a while (sometimes forever) I mainly use templates because I need the process to go fast, and I have learned which templates are my style.

Forever. I don't get to scrap until all 3 kids are asleep (about 9 pm), so I spend 2 nights on most layouts. The layout itself probably takes about 3 hours, plus time to choose the pictures, template, and kit. I should be used to it though...except for reading, everything seems to take me longer than it takes other people. I do about 12-15 layouts a month.

If I have the finished layout pictured in my head... it takes me about 45 minutes... if I'm just playing with it, it could be about 2 hours... lately if I'm using a template it's taking me longer because I want to keep putzing with it until the layout feels like "me"...

When the kids aren't here I can do a page in 1-2 hours but when they are here I keep getting disturbed so it's longer!

It varies for me a lot, some layouts are 30 mins while others can take me 4 hours. If I had to guess an average, maybe 2 hours? I don't usually use templets.

templates for me are often quicker but other layouts can take me hours. though if i dont finish it at that time I usually delete it and start with another photo that inspires me because if it takes hours I am usually struggling with that particular layout

Anything from 1 hour to 3 evenings or more. I don't use templates, I find it takes me twice the time to use them.

I also find that I have the general layout ready in 30 minutes or one hour, and all the rest of the time is about perfecting. I had my last one ready in a go, but then I spent two evenings trying to come up with a fun title that would feel right.

Not to mention the time spent on crediting if it's LO using many elements from many kits.

It really depends on what kind of layout I make! If it is a normal one, it takes me 1 till 3 hours(I get distracted a lot) and if it is a 'special' page with a lot of journaling or a challenge it can take me hours and hours! Sometimes I stop for an hour in between and just watch some tv and go back and finish!

1 or 2 layouts a day? OMG....I can finish a layout in an evening, but I don't think my boyfriend will like it much if I do that every evening. And during the day I have to work also. Thank God I have no kids yet LOL

If I can average on one a week I will be very pleased in 2011!!!
