Has anyone ever...
Has anyone ever taken a digi scrap class?
I'm considering taking a couple of classes to help me get better at this digi stuff and photoshop in general. Has anyone had any experience with these type of online classes and are they worth the time and money?? So far everything I've learned has been self taught and or learned from a few free tutorials. BUT... I feel like there is so much more I need to learn and I guess I'm just not finding what I'm looking for in the freebies or through trial and error. Here are the few I am considering: Scraphic Design: Foundations and Core classes by Tiffany Tillman http://www.reneepearson.com/classes/scraphic2.php and this one for shadows (cause I'm a shadow dummy lol): Me & My Shadow by Peppermint http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/meandmyshadow.php Any info you have would be welcomed!

I have taken Peppermint's class. I loved it! I did a review of it on my blog here. It is really informative and easy to understand and great if you are wanting to take your shadowing to the next level.
I haven't taken any others so I can't recommend any, but two big thumbs up for Peppermint's.

I've taken a couple of classes... Patti Knox's Digital Scrapping courses at Get It Scrapped... those were great and I learned a lot of different tips when I first was starting out.
Then I've taken a number of classes from Big Picture... Power Scrapping - Digi Style, Me: The Abridged Version, Design Your Life, A Week of Life Lists... but my problem is I haven't finished any of these classes... life gets in the way and I am off onto something else. So, I guess if you are bound and determined to stay on top of the class... then it's well worth it...

I've considered taking some, but I'm scared of spending the money. For one thing, I'm familiar with PS as I've been using it for a while for photography before starting digiscrapping, so I feel like I might know too much of the info to make it worth it. But, at the same time, it would be nice to see advanced scrapping skills presented from a non-photography perspective, which is what I've always learned in PS. I still keep arguing with myself about it, lol.

I signed up for Peppermint's Shadows class and from what I've seen I really like it but like Rebecca life has gotten in the way and I have been able to finish the class.

I don't think I've taken any digi-specific classes but I have taken quite a few classes from Big Picture Classes and I have nothing but good things to say. I don't think you can ever really go wrong spending money on education but that's just me. I may regret buying a certain kit but I rarely regret spending money on learning.

I've also taken classes from Jessica Sprague and I highly recommend them for learning how
to do the basic digital scrapping skills, as well as learning more advanced stuff. The classes remain online forever, so you can also go back and do a refresher course. They are very comprehensive and well worth it! |
