That's what I was going to say. I thought after her testimony it was essentially revealed that she had lied about it due to her work records.

I'm with Julie though - I've always thought there was more to the story than was revealed in court. Whether the parents were involved in it or not, I don't know. The part I just can't get over is WHY would you make an accident look like a murder? I can maybe see how grief might make her act that way she did or even possibly dump the body and lie. But the duct tape? The searches on the computer? None of that adds up.

yea that was part of the prosecutions closing statements I think. I remember hearing one of them say that anyhow. I agree. it just does not make sense to not report an accident to the police. The only reason I could think of to NOT report the accident is if she was afraid there would be drugs found in Caylee's system or abuse documented

I did not see that. Last I had read it was August. I think she will win the case against Casey especially since now Casey was found guilty for lying to the police and one of the lies was about her.

What I'm saying is though that I think she either searched the name or address or something where Caylee's body was and pinpointed it on a person in that same area. Not sure how true it is but it was concluded based on a phone conversation she had with her brother from jail. The address for the Gonzalez family is in the same area where Caylee's body was found.

I'll see if I can find the link I read again

Today has been a thought provoking one for my teenagers and I. They're learing a lot about the justice system and how America works. I cannot help but think back to the OJ Simpson trial. So many parallels as far as circumstantial evidence and not being able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. I wish the prosecution had a case that was more solid. I feel she's guilty. I hate that she'll walk away. However, she's not going to have the same life. And hopefully karma will get her, because the judicial system couldn't.

No way she's pregnant. She's been in jail for years.

how come if they aren't completely sure they don't continue testimony? Could the state not have recalled people to testify or dug more into what was said before wrapping up the testimonies and going to deliberation.

....because who doesn't want to hook up in a jail cell with a guard while they're on trial for killing their two year old?

I read it was Jose since he's the only one that's had unsupervised time with her...although in the same article I read it said they think she was making it up b/c she thinks that a jury wouldn't give the death penalty to a pregnant woman. Just another of the lies I'm sure.

My parents, DH and I have all been watching this really close since it only happen a little north of us (the actual crime - the trial is 2 hours away from us) and we are all stunned at today's verdict.

My MIL works at the (local) probation office and she said that for her 4 accounts of lying to the police she would get 4 years in jail. She has already served three years in jail awaiting her trail. So she will most likely be free to go on Thursday with the courts saying she served her time.

Right. Sorry. I need to get my facts straight. Baby brain is killin' me. I had forgotten about that.

Yes!! This is what I was screaming at the TV earlier after they read the verdict.

I agree that although the jury found her guilty, it doesn't necessarily mean they believe she didn't commit the crime. It just means they couldn't say she was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Honestly, I don't envy their position.

And, as I posted on FB earlier, if Casey Anthony is guilty (which I absolutely believe she is), she WILL eventually have to face her punishment. Of that I'm absolutely certain.

I didn't follow this too closely b/c I just couldn't watch it..too tragic. The one redeeming thought in all of this is that sweet Caylee is now in much better hands than she would have ever have been here on this earth.

Her mother may have alluded judgement in this world but she will stand before her Maker one day.

It was even on the news here!
I can't understand why you don't report your child missing!
