Default My mom is here!
My mom lives halfway across the country, and hasn't been home in 15 years for Christmas.

Today, I'm vegging on the couch, and I hear what I think is a knock on the door. I peek out (Tony was gone out of town) and don't see anyone. Thinking it's the kids knocking into something out in the front room, I don't think anything of it.

Then I hear footsteps coming into the living room where I am, and it's my MOM. Tony came in almost right after, they've been concocting this plan for a month or so. She flew down for Christmas, no one had any idea she was coming, except Tony.

I had NO CLUE she was coming, the kids didn't know, their jaws hit the floor, it was awesome. I have had an awful couple of months for various reasons, and I really needed this, more than anyone can imagine.

Life is really, really good sometimes. I am so thankful. It was almost as if she knew I needed her right now.

I can't imagine Christmas without my mom . My parents live about 10 hours away; they're driving out tomorrow!

Thanks guys, the kids are playing hooky from school tomorrow, she's only here a week, so we need to squeeze in what time we can. It's so awesome having her here
