When are you putting the tree up?

Do you put the tree up right after thanksgiving? or do you wait till mid december?

I'm trying to decide if I want to put it up tomorrow or if it's just too early

we'll get all the christmas stuff out today and start putting up. I try to have the tree up by December 1, and it comes down by the 31. It really helps me get into the christmas spirit

I usually have to wait until after Thanksgiving - so the tree will go up on the 1st of December and down after Jan 7th.

Just put Ours up today and got the lights on. Tomorrow my son will "help" me decorate it and then we're trying for a little photo shoot.

We usually wait until after the 1st week of December and then it depends on schedules and when we can get to the tree farm to cut one down.

We've gone with my parents and my sister and her kids for the past 10 years or so and it's a fun day. The tree farm has hot chocolate and cookies, sleigh rides the years there are snow, and the kids always look forward to it. This year everyone is available on December 7th so that's when we're going. The tree will go into the stand and sit on our closed in porch for the rest of the day so it can warm up enough for the sap to run and the branches to relax, then it will come inside for decorating during the next several days. All house decorations go up at the same time.

We are thinking about getting a tree tomorrow, but we still have to put lights on the house... not sure if we will get to both. If not, we will get the tree next weekend.

I put ours up 2 weeks ago. LOL. The holiday decorations were the last boxes hanging out in the garage after our move, so I went ahead and did it then.

Probably next weekend. I like to put it up the first weekend of December. Then I get to include it in my December Daily. Plus, I am hoping to snag to extra decoration stuff this week.

We traditionally put the tree up on Thanksgiving, but I put it up a few days before because I wanted to make sure all the lights worked and didn't want to deal with that on top of cooking this year. We didn't decorate until thanksgiving though (like normal).

I recently got 2 adorable kittens who are now in their exploring (read: wrecking) phase. So no tree for me this year! Especially since a lot of decorations in my tree are quite expensive from Disneyland Paris.

We put ours up today. My DH bought a new TV so we set up that... And his new BluRay and sound bar. Then pulled out the tree and set it up. DH fluffed it while I went on a walk. When I got home my youngest and I decorated. Cannot wait to sit and watch a movie with the Christmas lights on.

Our "rule" is to put it up the on December 1st or the weekend just before so that the tree is up for every day of December. It comes down on January 1st.

We do real trees, so we buy one the first week of December (I call ahead and see what day new trees get delivered and go that night so I can get a fresher one). If I had a fake one, it would already be up!

I put it up last weekend… but only because I had a photo session in my house and promised my client I could have a tree background. It was a total accident and I realized after I needed the trees up. It was annoying at the time, but really nice now.

we put up the tree a few days before Thanksgiving but that was because i needed to take off all of the lights & then put new ones on. i knew my mood wouldn't be good if i did that after Thanksgiving. we decorated it today & i LOVE it! all of the decorations went up today. i love Christmas.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Amber! I hope she's feeling better soon.

Thanks Brook. She has Celiac disease and if she isn't getting accidentally glutened, she picks up viruses too easy with it being autoimmune she had a fever earlier of 103.2

We put up and decorated my parents' tree this past weekend. I had asked DH to get our tree up and the decorations out while we were gone, but I think he's still debating on whether he wants a real tree this year or not, so nothing for us yet. It, real or fake, will have to go up this coming weekend at the latest or I will have a fit.

we put ours up today... which has got to be some sort of record at our house! didn't get it decorated though, as Boy #2 had a 103 degree temp and we didn't want him to miss out on the fun. so we'll get to that part once he's feeling better.

We do a live tree in the living room. We bought ours yesterday and put it up when we got home since it had to be put in water. It has lights but no ornaments yet. The artificial trees go up whenever I get a chance.

We will be going to pick ours out and decorate this week-end. Since we do real trees we have to wait until the first week-end of December.... it just doesn't feel Christmas-y without all those twinkle lights indoors so the sooner the better to get us all in the spirit of the holiday season.
