Qotd: Do you keep your layouts once you've printed them? (12/28)
Do you keep your layouts once you've printed them?
I used to keep both my .psd files and .jpeg files, but it takes up so much space on my EHD. So with a heavy heart I deleted all my printed pages I had already printed. I only deleted my really old ones, not the newer ones. How about you? Do you delete the layouts you created and printed?

YES! You never know if the album might get damaged and you have to reprint! I keep the .jpg and sometimes I'll keep the .tiff if there's something that I don't quite like. But once it's printed, all those working file are GONE!
I also like to change out my desktop every few weeks and the layouts make nice desktop views! <3 |

I definitely keep the jpg, but delete the layered file.

I keep both jpegs and tiffs/psds. I move the tiffs/psds to an external hard drive. When that fills up I'll probably buy another external hard drive rather than delete anything... I may one day need them, maybe...

I keep both the JPG and layered files. I keep thinking about deleting the layered files, but I can't bring myself to do it. There was a time that I thought I may adjust some of the journaling and make photo books for my boys, but that probably won't happen. I may make the books, but will probably use the layouts as is. Honestly, I probably won't ever go back to the layered files, but I'm still keeping them.

Yes !! I've lost a lot of my layouts with 2 harddrive crashes so now I burn them on dvd so I know I have a backup I keep my layered psd, my flattened psd and also a jpg preview

I'm a keeper, too! I would never intentionally delete a layout, even a really old one. It's like a little piece of my soul!

yes, I keep both layered and jpg. I used to delete the jpg when I printed, but now I want to be able to make bound books and I'll have to go and reflaten my pages. :-/

I only keep my jpeg, never save the tiff. I have had a hard drive fail twice and lost a couple of years of scrap goodies, layouts and photos

Yep, I always keep them. I upload them to my cloud-based account and move them to an EHD, so I don't have any space constraints. I've re-used some of them with different pictures, plus I like the flexibility to change something before I get them printed.

I delete my TIFF as soon as I upload the web-sized version to the gallery here or on my FB page. #livinontheedge
I do keep all the JPGs. |

Yes - I keep the .jpg .psd and the kit! I have everything clear back to 2009 when I found SSD

I haven't deleted ANY SSD kit either. I kept them all. I did delete some older kits from other sites.

I use to save all the .jpeg and .psd files too but deleted the .psd's because i needed space. I actually don't care if there are typos haha

I lost most of mine during a few crashes. Now I keep just the fullsize jpeg. At least for a year or so. I may delete them after.

When I first started out, I kept jpg files on my HD and psd files on DVDs. But after years of taking the time to burn those DVDs, I realized I'd only gone back to the psd files once or twice. So now I keep the psds until I print and the jpgs forever. The few times that I've noticed a typo after printing I just lived with it--I'd rather spend the money printing a new LO than re-printing something.

I keep the TIFF and full-size jpeg... I'm too paranoid that I'll need the layered file at some point! I keep the TIFF in the folder with the photos on an EHD, backed up to another EHD and to Backblaze.
