Default Mmmm. My house smells yummy!

Did I bake? No! Did I clean? No!
I lit candles.
Some days I just walk into my house and it smells like 7 people live here and only one of them cleans anything. That is a very interesting smell. So this morning, I am cleaning nothing! The clean laundry will stay unfolded in baskets. The dirty laundry will stay in piles on bedroom floors. The dishes will stay piled up in the sink. The crumbs will remain unswept on the floor. Because....
IF I SIT EXACTLY WHERE I AM, and don't look away from my laptop, my house smells like fresh baked gingerbread and a hint of berry something-or-other. Won't you all join me in lighting a lovely scented candle and ignoring the mess?

Lizzy, is there an A.C. Moore by you? They have the best jar candles. Every few weeks the go on sale for like $3 and they last forever! And they smell fantastic! They are as good, maybe better than Yankee Candle and they are $3!

mmmmm i love candles. i don't usually get any because if i leave the room Emma and Aidan think they are toys. But a couple weeks ago i bought some warm apple pie ones from Walmart. the cheap ones. they smell pretty good, but i like the pricier ones they sell in the ceramic containers better. we also have a place in the mall that sells Yankee candles. i might check that place out!

Lizzy yours sound really yummy!

I have to say, if you gals have an A.C. Moore anywhere nearby, you MUST check the flyer for the $3 candle sales. They are so good.
My favorite is winter wonderland. It is piney, but not overwhelming. It really makes me feel like Christmas is coming. So I can't put that one out for a while. But, there is Pumpkin in my bedroom. Orange in the boys room. Vanilla in the girls room. Gingerbread in the kitchen and dining room. And I have Cranberry in my living room. And I honestly could not possibly be any happier right now.

I used to get Glade all the time when they came in the globe container. But when they switched to the little cup... Well let's just say SE Johnson got a call. The wick burns out and there is still half a candle in the jar. NOT RIGHT!!! They sent me coupons for 6 new candles because that is how many I had that were half gone. So I went to my local KMart and bought all the globe jar ones they had left on the shelf. lol

My aunt LOVED Glade candles - and I know it's a hassle, but she bought some cheap little spatulas and when she burned them, she would scrap the sides. So yeah, that's what I do.

I don't even know how to spell the sound that just escaped me when I read this, but I do know I am all scrunched up in the shoulder and I am pretty sure I am frowning.
I strongly sugges multiple candles for you, my dear.
And as for you Corey, My purpose is to NOT GET OFF THE LAPTOP AND CLEAN!!!! Not yet anyway.
Eventually I will have to pee. And the hamper is in front of the bathroom. And my conscience will force me to take it downstairs, where I will find that my daughter has not been doing her chore of separating the laundry. So I will do it. Then I will start a batch and switch a batch and take up a batch and sort it. BUT I WILL NOT FOLD IT AND THEY CAN'T MAKE ME!!!!!

Candles are good. But I'm SO more into reed diffusers. They smell so much stronger IMO and come without the fire hazard.

I'm really addicted to my lavender diffuser. Smells like heaven.

I know, I wasn't sold until I tried one too. Just like candles, you can get good ones and bad ones. Mine came from Kohl's but I'm sure they have good quality ones elsewhere too. I even saw some at Wal-Mart last week. I'm a bit of an airhead and forget to blow candles out before I leave the house.

Oh I love those too, but they don't last very long for me at all! I mean, the smell... it seems to stop smelling after awhile and it only worked well in a small space. am I doing something wrong?

I've been burning Moroccan Spice from Colonial for the past couple of weeks and they are like a little bit of heaven. Spicy and just right for fall. I'm pretty sure it's the best candle ever made.

I've got Yankee Christmas Cookie ready to pull out in a few weeks too . . .

Yum-my!

Do ya flip the reeds? When mine don't smell quite so strong, I flip the reeds upside down and just do that over and over whenever I need to. Seems to work for me

Not only do I flip the reeds but I use two complimentary scents in two different main rooms and then I switch them weekly. So, because I'm living with a roomate right now...I only have 4 areas in my wing of the house....a bedroom, bathroom, hallway and laundry room. Well obviously I don't give a darn what the hallway and laundry room smell like, so I have a lavender diffuser in the bedroom and a vanilla diffuser in the bathroom and I switch them on a weekly basis. Makes the scent new to my nose again.

When I have a house again of my own, it will take a little more finagling.

the AC moore near me is closing (just another store hit hard by the economy because it just recently opened ). I bought some holiday candles at Kohl's though. My favorite is like buttercream frosting or something like that. They actually had little candy sprinkles on the candle when you bought them and they smell just like a cake. Ohhh YUMMM!!!

hmmm, candles. me love candles. hehehee
I am a Party Lite lover, all my candles/tarts/oils come from there. I rotate my scents on a weekly basis. I have about 30 different scents at home right now. Last burned was Pumpkin Spice in my tart warmer, man, did that smell GOOOOOOD! I might have to light some when I get home, since it's snowing today. Might even light a fire at home tonight, even better smell. lmao

Okay, so I didn't abandon my thread. I decided, quite spur of the moment, to get my hair cut and colored.
What do you think?

Mimi, that is funny. I mean, it isn't, but it is.
My hubby is a fireman. I have a full set of bunker gear in my house at all time. Not afraid of fire, afraid of water.
I have had the same nightmare for most of my life. I dream that I am in a car trapped under water. The only things that change in my nightmare are
1: what car I am in, it is usually the one I own.
2: who is in the car with me, everytime I have another child it adds to the number.

I had it yesterday morning right before I had to bring my kids back to school after the lockdown. Psychology is amazing.

Anywho, thanks for all the nice hair comments. I think I really like it.

The closest AC Moore it gave me was in FL--how is that closer to New Mexico than TN? I think something's up with their store locator...

I'm going to go light a candle now. That sounds so nice.

And I love your hair!
