Default QOTD - The Infamous Pumpkin Spice - 10.20.15

It had to be asked...

Are you a Pumpkin Spice gal or not?

I am definitely not. I have never liked pumpkin-flavored anything. Blegh.

I love Pumpkin bread... was never a fan or Pumpkin Pie although I recently learned to love pumpkin cheesecake. I on occasion enjoy a Pumpkin Spice coffee but it's not something I have to have or miss when I don't get one. So yea, this time of year does bring the Pumpkin gal out in me, but not enough to make me crazy with excitement waiting for the season!

You bet - I love pumpkin and don't limit it to just the "fall" season. It's good for you too, unless you indulge in too many pumpkin whoopie pies, and then not so much I just had pumpkin chili for supper last night

NO!! Candy corn is disgusting and should only be used in a decorative manner

I do like pumpkin but I think the flavoring everything pumpkin is over kill.

Yes! I love pumpkin!

In fact, I just made some pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting last week, and they were pretty much amazing.

Have you tried the Hershey's White Chocolate Candy Corn candy bars? It's not overly sweet like actual candy corn. The Candy Corn M & M's are pretty good too.

I'm still confused about the "pumpkin spice" description because I thought that when this became a thing, it didn't mean that it had PUMPKIN in it, it meant that it had PUMPKIN SPICE -- as in the spice you would use in a pumpkin pie (cinnamon, nutmeg a smidge of clove maybe). Now it seems to include actual flavor or pumpkin?

In any event, I'm kind of like Keely -- I like pumpkin including baked pumpkin goods (pies, scones, muffins) -- but I feel like artificially flavoring everything with "pumpkin spice" is overkill. I HATE pumpkin spice coffee. Too sweet and icky.

I love pumpkin everything, scents, desserts, etc. I don't drink coffee so I haven't had any of the PSL. I love when my house smells like pumpkin spice.

Unfortunately, my husband HATES pumpkin everything. I can't cook it when he's home because it permeates everything. He also won't get near me if I've had anything pumpkin flavored. I didn't know this before I married him!! We both try to annoy each other during the fall season with our love/hate pumpkin relationship.

I hate pumpkin! However, my DH and kids love it, so every fall I bake all sorts of pumpkin stuff and then have zero temptation to eat any of it. It's perfect...

I love pumpkin soup.
We grow pumpkins in our bacyard, so we can prepare it with our own pumpkins.

I'm obsessed with anything pumpkin or pumpkin spiced... I even did a layout on my joy of finding pumpkin items at Trader Joes - and then drove back (which is almost 2 hours away from where I live) to stock up!

And on the candy corn debate... candy corn = gross.

Pumpkin pie is my favorite! The pumpkin scones at starbucks, mmmm. But pumpkin spice lattes, no thanks. I don't like pumpkin spice flavored drinks, but I do enjoy a spice scented candle... clove is one of my favorite fall scents.

LOL - TJs has some awesome pumpkin products during October! Unfortunately the closest one to me is also 2 hours away and I haven't made it there yet this month and probably won't

And I'll chime on the candy corn debate too - DISGUSTING!!! I hate it! Got sick on it as a kid and just the sight of it makes me want to run screaming

I've been putting clove, wild orange and cinnamon in my oil diffuser...so yummy!

I honestly love anything pumpkin; I always have. My boyfriend and I were joking over the weekend because I told him I liked pumpkin before it was cool. He called me a pumpkin hipster.

My mom makes a wonderful pumpkin bar with yummy cream cheese frosting. That I eat once a year and that is enough pumpkin.

My thoughts are, "why eat pumpkin when you can have CHOCOLATE!"

Nope definitely not... Although there is a new "pumpkin spice" hair trend that I am dying to do... It's a gorgeous color of orange/red...

Pumpkins are not a big deal here, maybe because we don't have Halloween or Thanksgiving... so its just a vegetable. We eat it year round... I especially love roast pumpkin and often have it cold in salads. We also have pumpkin soup, and very occasionally you might come across pumpkin pie or pumpkin cake somewhere.

Never tried it. It isn't a thing here is Oz. I don't think I've ever seen it in anything even if I wanted to try it.

Yep. We have it every night with our veggies so pumpkin is just meh to me lol. I only eat it roasted, and pumpkin soup or scones is about it for fancy pumpkin stuff lol.

Nope, pumpkin is not on the list of things I miss about fall. I can't imagine wanting my coffee to taste like a vegetable.

Exactly! If I'm going to eat baked goods or get Starbucks, pumpkin can't compete with chocolate. So I guess I'm neutral. Pumpkin spice everything is fine and I enjoy it when I have it, but I rarely order or make it. My family isn't big on pumpkin, so I don't cook with it much, either.

I love pumpkin, as soup or cake or anything. I use pumpkin spice if it goes with the pumpkin recipe but I don't see the appeal in just pumpkin spice flavoured stuff.
