Default Bunchems

I was wondering who of you know this toy?
Well i never heard of them before untill today, wich was dramatic. My oldest was playing at her friends home. Suddenly she came home crying so hard and all in panic. 6 of these tiny hooked balls were stuck in her hair. So i went to her friends house because i saw some red pieces but didn't knew what they were. The friends grandmother was shocked as well because they didn;t told her that happened. anyway we managed to remove 2 but the other 5 took me at least 4 hours. After these were gone a huge knot was left wich took me another hour to brush so most of her hair would be saved. But i still had to cut a little knot at the end. But wow this was a hell for a long haired little girl. She was so afraid her hair was destroyed and didn;t wanted to go to school again.

Anyway i'm happy that it still looks pretty neat but she is for sure warned for a next time.

6 of hese balls were inside the knot above

had to cut this

and this is the final result

Were they using them as like hair rollers maybe? Like hoping to curl their hair?

They look just like burrs! What a horrible experience. I'm glad you were able to save most of her hair.

They do!! It's like the scene from Ramona and Beezus where Ramona makes a crown out of burrs when she goes to audition for the peanut butter commercial. LOL!

Amazon is FULL of bad reviews about these. It's shocking they still sell them. There are warnings on the box now, at least, but honestly they are giant velcro balls. An accident waiting to happen. :/

I had a friend who had to cut both her girls hair, a friend that was playing with them and the dog from those evil things!!! Now it's a joke with all of us, but it sure wasn't funny at the time.

This is the first time I see them!
I just wonder how could they be considered as toys?

Yes this is why I won't buy them. It was all over the news when they were released here, lots of unhappy parents.

Thank you for sharing this not so nice event as I have now warned my daughter about them as I would hate to see the same happen with any of my granddaughters.

I had to go to Amazon as I had never heard them. I am just wondering how can something so awful be a toy. All of the reviewers photos are of kids with a lot of these little balls stuck in their hair. I can't even imagine trying to get them out. It looks painful. Pshh... I hate detangling my own hair as it is.

I heard stories about these things being a hair nightmare. I'm also surprised they still sell them!
