Default puppet tool!!

my new favorite photoshop tool is the puppet warp tool.

anyone else use it for scrapping?? would love to see other ideas then what I just came up with!!

for my siggy I used Jenn's kit, and I wanted the leaves to be bent around my clustering but the branch was straight... so I warped it... I don't think you can tell but what do you guys think??

any other tips??

Uh, I didn't know it! It's cool! I'm using the french version of PS, could you tell me where it is in the menus, so that I can find it easily? TIA!!

I've seen it but couldn't really figure out how it would be useful - that's pretty cool!

It's under Edit > Puppet Warp in CS5.

That was fun, I went and played with it in PS with a random element being sure not to save it. Not sure but I think it would make a fun time to alter shadows!

That is one of the things I use to alter my shadows especially when doing something like a ribbon that is raised off the page.

oh yeah thats a great idea with the shadows too!! I'm not sure what else it would work well for, but I'll really keep it in mind now when I play with clusters... I bet it would work well on some ribbons too.

yeah I find it right above the free transform tool is cs5. thats how I found it in the first place... I free transform to size so I can see it in proportion to my page.

I want CS5! Seriously!!! All the new features rock. I know that everyone always says to wait for the uneven numbers, but meh. I couldn't wait and then I didn't have a job and now my student liscence is gone. But I'm sooo saving towards this as soon as more money comes in.

I guess I'm the odd ball I like the even numbered ones. I went from photoshop 7(before CS days) to ps cs3 to now cs5. And have loved them each! I will probably wait till cs7 before next upgrade.

I use to use the edit-transform-warp action to do shadows. But with all those numerous points the puppet would be more effective.

What is the difference between the Warp Tool and the Puppet Warp?

I have CS4 and I'm definitely waiting for CS6 or even higher before I'm ready to make an investment like this again.

Oh, uhm..but aren't those the uneven numbers, Brittney? Do I get that wrong? Sometimes it does show I'm not a native speaker. Oh, or are they called odd numbers?

Anyway, I wished I had CS5 instead of CS4. Saying that, I do still love it. Told BF for our new flat I might need one of these. Though, thinking about it, doesn't the new icon design have black letters?

The warp tool cones with the outside box set points and you can pull the inside points a bit too. With the puppet tool you create your own points all over the image to stretch it however you dream. hope this made since.

But think that you'll have CS6! :-)

I think I need one of those pillows myself.

I see! Thanks. Too bad I told myself a big fat no for CS5. Will have to be a patient girl.

I don't have CS envy very often, I'm very content with my PSE, and to be honest, a little intimidated by CS, but this sounds super cool.

LOL Very pitiful! Right, imagine me staring at you with a very strict and angry look saying the following: "Amy! You have this pretty program and don't use it. There are poor kids in Africa (and poor scrappers in Germany...) who'd love to have it. And you waste it. If you don't install it til the end of the week, it'll be taken away from you and donated to someone (= me) who can appreciate it!"

Did it help?

And now you go and google "CS5 content aware fill" and "CS5 patchmatch". Watch the demo videos closely. If you don't want to install your program after that, then it's really hopeless.

Well said. :-D

I was afraid to sound harsh, but I can't imagine why someone invests a fortune into a programme and then doesn't use it. Most of my Slovak friends can't even afford to buy PS.

But then, who am I to patronise? Go try it out, have fun and brag to us about the results! Don't be afraid, CS5 doesn't bite. ;-)))
