Default Qotd: When do you take down your Christmas tree? (12/31)

When do you take down your Christmas tree?

We take ours down the day after 3 kings day (January 6th).
How about you? Doe you take him down on a specific day? Or just when you've got time to do it?

I just do it when I’ve got time! Usually the middle of January. I love our tree and leave it up for as long as possible.

Usually until the first week of January. However with this dog either chewing up my ornaments or trying to electrocute himself by chewing cords, I made it until the 26th.

Always after epiphany (Jan 6th)... I may keep it up longer, I don't know. Jake already took down his tree in his room - said Christmas was over.

Mine is coming down today. It's dead and starting to bother my breathing!

We don't have a set date. Just whatever fits in with our schedule.

This is the 2nd year we've had Christmas tree. Last year, I had it until after the New Year's festivity calmed down. This year, I took it out a few days ago. I had the time to do it and, since I have to prepare for our holiday in a few weeks soon, I thought it's better to take it down early.

We have a live tree and it's in the basement and I'm not strong enough to physically carry it up the stairs and throw it outside (and DH is out of town until Tuesday) but the kids and I will un-decorate it today or tomorrow so that DH can take it out once he gets back.

With a live tree, we don't keep it around much after NYE.

Yes, we did............but I had a huge fight with DH on the 27th and all the festive feelings were gone so I removed everything that day.

Thank you ♥ We're good now but I we didn't like eachother a lot on that day. Just happy it doesn't happen too often.....just a bit sad it happened right after Christmas.

I put Christmas away last Thursday. After spending a couple of days at the Children's hospital I just couldn't look at it any longer....plus the cat had already messed with it enough.

If we put a tree up, we generally take it down within a week of Christmas. We just took it down yesterday and next week I'll deep clean the main floor.

my husband would want to leave it up until halloween if I let him, so we leave it up until I get so annoyed that I can't handle it anymore. Usually it's a few days after he goes back to work (he takes leave during christmas time). I will take it all down and put all the christmas stuff away while he's at work and the kids are at school.

Just took ours down this morning. We have a real tree so I try not to leave it up for more than 3 weeks.

I want mine gone the day after Christmas.... since I put it up on the 1st of December, and with all the chaos and busy busy busy days of the holiday season, when it is over I just want it gone and done with. The past couple of years I have been allowing myself a few days after Christmas to just sit and relax and enjoy it like I hadn't yet been able to which has been nice. As long as it's gone before midnight on NYE I am ok with doing it that way......I don't like to bring "old year' events into the New Year, I like the fresh clean start.
