I read 85 books this year and really suffered through a lot of [what i felt were] mediocre titles. bleh. I was slightly deflated when I looked back through the year and realized that I had only rated a handful of books with 5 stars. many of which were middle grade genre that I read with my 9 year old son.
so my favorites list is really tiny. but here goes....

my favorite read of 2015 :
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
a truly terrific cast of characters! fantastic world building featuring some wonderfully unique magic/fantasty factors.
who doesn't love a great caper?! such an entertaining read... 4.5 stars!

other highlights:

The Museum of Literary Souls by John Connolly
a short story [less than a 100 pages] that i read back March and still find myself thinking about. loved! 5 stars

Life in Outer Space by Melissa Keil
a new to me author with a wonderfully quirky writing style. fun to read... 4.5 stars

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
a must read title to have under your belt. 4 stars.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead
a middle grade title read with my 9 year old son.
we absolutely loved this book. every. little. detail. 5 stars.

I haven't read much this year, but I've enjoy most of what I've read immensely.

First two books in the Kingkiller Trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss ... so much love! Just afraid he's going to leave us hanging because that third book has taken literally an age for him to release

The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer - this has been this year's Wool by Hugh Howey for me - except I'm actually going to finish all three books. SUCH a weird and fascinating world.

I'm getting ready to read this because there was a short story by this author in a book I just read and I really liked it, then discovered that my dd has this book up in her room, lol!

My #1 favorite, read back in January and nothing topped it.

This one absolutely delighted me

These two were eye-opening for me. I learned a lot from them.

Historical fiction linked to present day. Usually don't like those, but this was really good.

Laughed hysterically. Cried hysterically.

Another tear-jerker for me. Great insight into Alzheimer's.

A light romance, but the guy was so adorable I couldn't put it down.

I am so far behind in my reading this year, the first half of 2015 I did great and then, I don't think I read a book in 6 months! I love that year in books on good reads! I am so going to try that. I am writing all of these suggestions down, can't wait to read a few or all of them!

I usually read the same books over and over. They're just that good! Epic fantasy/fiction books is something I love and there are two series with several books in them which both me and my husband had read multiple times.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and the other series is by Raymond E. Feist.

If you're into it, they're the best books EVER!

Here's a list of my twelve (tried to keep it to 10 but couldn't) favorite reads this past year. Some have already been mentioned.

I read more this year than I have in a long time, but there were only a handful that I really loved:

The entire Selection series...

And I reead the entire Chronos Files series (one of my fave of all time) in anticipation of the finale coming out. It didn't disapoint!
