Default AntiVirus software! What's the best?

I need a good antivirus software! i just had a scare on my last remaining computer, lol. Luckily I tackled it with a "second opinion" type of software but I'm still unprotected, what do you use??

I use Microsoft Security Essentials too. My brothers are both computer experts and that's what they use as well.

ESET Smart Security 4. ESET's products used to be top of class, I have no idea about now as I no longer work in IT and have lost all active interest in these things. It's a Slovak product on top of it, which, for me, is all the more reason to use it as it's probably the only really known Slovak product out there. :-)

I've used AVG free for years now and haven't had any problems with it!

Avast home edition-also free, and in the now 5.5 years of using it, not one virus issue in that time.

I'm using Norton... no viruses and no issues here. BUT, I'd never heard of MSSE before! I'm going to have to look into it...

I downloaded MSSE last night, got it installed.... probably going to put it on the desktop in the living room (my 7 year old computer) that people insist on downloading stuff on and that thing is CONSTANTLY getting viruses! Thanks everyone for your input if this fails I'll check out the others mentioned.

I use Norton 360, no viruses here. I have never heard of MSSE so can't say much about it. I do work in the computer software field so I think you are making a good move to get your computer protected.

I've been using Norton 360 for a few years, and I haven't had any problems.

I've used McAfee for years and protect 6 computers with it, but I may need to check out this free security before my renewal comes up in May!
