Default The Office?

alrighty ... so we never watched The Office. NEtflix has it on watch instant so we decided to give it a try after hearing people rave about it.

2 episodes in? we think it sucks. it must get better to win awards and stuff right?? and to have had such a LONG run? or does it stay stupid and that's just not our type of humor?

Are you watching the British or American version?

Jordan LOVES the original British version, so we don't watch the American one. It might not be your kind of humor. I've seen bits and pieces here and there of it, but I didn't find it to be all that spectacular.

OMGosh...both versions make me giggle...I'm not a die-hard but I do enjoy the silliness of it all...
My husband on the other hand LOVESSSS it...but I have always questioned his sense of humor...its a little on the odd side.

I didn't get it for the first couple of years... now I think it's hilarious... and I think the later seasons are better. It a different type of humor... but the battles between Jim and Dwight are just a hoot... I've worked with all these type of personalities and I can so relate.

The best thing about The Office is it's SO awkward that it's funny. Jim screwing with Dwight just kills me and the relationship between Jim & Pam... <3 He's so adorable I could squeeze him.

I agree. I think seasons 2 & 3 might be my favorites? Like the early Jim and Pam days, before they got married and had the baby. I actually like the ensemble cast more in the later seasons but Jim and Pam to me have always been the heart of the show and after they had the baby they became SO lame. We still watch occasionally but I don't get excited about watching like I used to.

I totally agree. The relationship between Pam & Jim was what made me watch every week. That and Jim pulling all the jokes on Dwight. All of a sudden, the jokes stopped, Jim & Pam were boring and the show went downhill.

I've only seen a couple of episodes...it's that awkward uncomfortable humor. I can't decide if I like it or not, either.

I love it. The British and American version both.

BUT I hated that Pam and Jim got hitched so early on. It kinda ruined the flow and they got kinda stale after that. Now with Michael gone it's going to die a slow death. Pam and Jim made it fun for me and now that spark is gone.

I do think it gets better once you get to "know" the characters and get use to the mockumentary format.

It also helps if you have worked with people that resemble the characters, because it becomes that much funnier!
