Default My tree is up, is yours? Show me

I got the decorations out on Friday and Saturday, organized the decorations we would use on the coffee table so it would be easy for Bailey to decorate with me and Jen, without having to dig thru bins. I put the ribbon on the tree last night (the lights are permanent ones with the tree). It was so easy and no stress to put the tree up today, we laughed, took lots of pics and Bailey enjoyed the afternoon, not losing interest or focus at all. What a wonderful day. I will treasure it forever. Here's our tree. Got a pic of yours yet? If so....show me!

It looks beautiful! Mine went up the weekend after thanksgiving, but I can’t get a picture I’m happy with. I look at the pics and think... but it looks so much better in person. Lol

What don't you like about the photos you are taking? Maybe we can give you some ideas on how to get the look you'd like. What camera are you using? Using a tripod and/or timer? What's the lighting like?

I'm happy to help with tips or ideas if you like. Also, don't be overly picky....any photo you take will give you the memory of your tree this year and that's what is most important, not how technically correct or perfect the photo is.

That looks so beautiful, Rae! Love all those ribbons! Compared to yours, ours would look so empty. I was thinking of decorating it with the Christmas starbucks paper cups I've collected, but I haven't had the will to do it lately.

Here is ours:

You do red too...so pretty! Now you have me curious as to you’d do with the Starbucks cups.

Beautiful tree, and sounds like a beautiful day for your family!
I love the ribbons!

We put ours up the night after Thanksgiving. I love the way themed/color-schemed trees look, but until we start putting up a 2nd tree, we've got a mix of all ornaments. Usually our kids give up after a few, but this year they stuck it out til the end, hence the very heavily decorated front lower portion of the tree, haha.

And all lit up-- it's pre-lit and we add 2 Tree-dazzlers, lol. I love colored lights and I love white lights...depends on my mood! If I'm in the mood for just white lights, I don't turn on the Tree-dazzlers. Best of both worlds

Our tree usually goes up thanksgiving weekend. This is only about 20% of the ornaments we have. The kids did not put theirs up this yea, so we did all Disney and other vacation/family ornaments. We also have done this bow for the last 2 years... we usually have an angel. Our tree is also pre-lit, we can do colored or white lights.

This is our main real tree, we just finished it up yesterday, the rest of the trees have been up for a couple weeks now.

You guys!! These trees are SO gorgeous!!!

Our tree didn't make the move--it was one of the many missing boxes, so we don't have a tree this year. We are fine with it, because with being closer to family, we aren't decorating for Christmas which includes putting up the tree! So no tree or decorations for us!

I'll live vicariously through you guys though!

This....so this. I love it once it's up and decorated and quite enjoy sitting in just the lights from the tree.

If I could get someone to 'fluff it' and decorate it I would be in heaven and have it up Dec. 1.

Lea - pretty tree, love all the red.

Jaye - I'd come do it I hate pulling out all the bins but I do love the decorating part.

No tree yet - we have a real tree and my daughter won't be home from college until December 20th, and she'll want to help decorate. I MIGHT go get it this weekend but I'm likely going to wait until the 20th.

my tree is not up yet I usually have it up in november. We had a bit of a flood in our kitchen right before black friday (worst timing ever) and we have people coming in to do repairs and all of that so I don't even know what to do. It's all a bit of a stress bucket

Recovering and repairing from the flood is much more important than a tree. Lets hope the coming year is less stressful one for your family.

Thanks for the offer! I haven’t made any real effort... just tried with my iPhone. I should probably pull out my “good” camera - I seem to do that less and less.

I used a tripod, iso 200, aperture 2.8, shutter speed 20/sec at f/18.Either use a timer or be very still for a few seconds while image exposes b/c it will not be instaneous and if you move and shake the floor you could have camera shake.

Thank you, Rae! Will do that

Our tree is already up but not the angel topper yet. I have been tweaking stuff here to be sure everyone will be safe, especially on the stairs. After my fall in January because of the garland on the newel, I am hesitant about the garland placement, but the length is exactly for it, so my two people are helping me decide

For sure, safety first. No more falls.

Rae, I would gladly pull the bins out and bring them upstairs for you. Too bad we are on the other side of the country from each other

You're in Ontario, right?

Someday I may make it back there for a visit. I grew up in Windsor and spent a lot of time in London, St. Catherines and Toronto. I haven't been in over 20 yrs. I still have lots of family back there.
