Default Inspirational Books?

This is totally non digi related, but do any of you have any sort of inspirational books you can recommend? I've got some things going on in my personal life and I'm just.... really needing something positive in my life, ya know? I love to read, but haven't really found anything along the lines of what I'd like that holds my interest.

Ohh cheesy read sounds good haha. Something light with a good vibe to it I guess. Ya know some books are dark and gloomy. Wasn't thinking self help but I guess if anyone knows of books that provide "advice" on staying positive in negative situations. Blah =/ I like Christian fiction as well, I've read several Karen Kingsbury (think thats her name?) and enjoyed them.

I'd recommend anything by Anne Lamott. She writes wonderful, inspirational stories about her life that are also very funny and moving.

I've never heard of her, thanks for sharing!

Sorry for the weird question, I guess I didn't word it right. I just need something light and positive, if that makes sense. At least with a happy ending haha.

All pictures are linked.

A couple of Christian fiction I have enjoyed........

Some just easy reading good reads..............

This is a fun romance novel series (5 books). This is the first.......

Another sweet romance

The Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber is good too. There are several books to that one.

If you want some smut/sexy reads.........I enjoy the Rough Rider Series by Lorelei James. Also along those lines I enjoyed....

This is the first book of the series........there are two so far.....

If you like supernatural type books........this is a cute triology about werewolves that is not dark and twisty.........

Those are what I can think of off the top of my head. I hope that helps!

For Christian fiction, try anything by Francine Rivers (I see one up a few posts), Lynn Austin, or Julie Klassen. LOVE them all....they're mostly historical, romanctic stuff.

I loved this book: The Ultimate Gift. It's actually one of 3 in the series. It's an easy read, very uplifting and thought provoking. You could probably read it in a day or two.

This is non-fiction I got from a pass the book project & just finished reading it

http://www.amazon.com/Sabbath-Findin...ywords=sabbath

I'm getting ready to pass it on again if you are interested. it's a very peaceful & inspirational read about different ways we can take time to create sacred time or rest & reflection in our life, a day or an hour or a walk.

As a woman with baggage (who doesn't have some baggage, right?) I found So Long, Insecurity: You've Been a Bad Friend to Us by Beth Moore extremely helpful in learning to deal with some junk I've had to deal with as well.

One of my favorites I read and reead once a year is The Slight Edge. The very true quote about the book is "The Slight Edge is not just another self-help, motivation tool of methods you must learn in order to make it up the path of success. It simply shows you how to create powerful results from the simple daily activities of your life, by using tools that are already within you"

another favorite of mine is The Gift Giver by Bruce Wilkinson . It's a modern-day parable that tells the story of Ordinary, who dares to leave the Land of Familiar to pursue his Big Dream.

I guess it just depends where you are at in life and what your looking for. Best wishes with whatever challenges you are dealing with
