Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain disorders.

I've been having issues with my shoulders, arms and wrists for years. I always thought it was just carpal tunnel or the likes, but lately I've been feeling SO sleepy. I drink lots of caffeine to just stay awake and I still feel really sleepy. I went for an MRI a while back and fell asleep for a good 30 minutes of a 45 minutes MRI INSIDE! the machine. My aches and pains usually get worse come fall and build up during the winter. Now I finally suggested for my doctor it might be something more chronic than just the yearly carpal tunnel or unidentified muscle pain. So I'm seeing a reumatologist tomorrow, finally.

I just thought to ask if anyone else has been through this and can help me shed some light on it.

Hope you get some help Christine. My first thought with the exhaustion was possible thyroid issues. But that wouldn't explain the pain...

Best wishes from me as well. I know a few people who have Fibromyalgia, but I don't know much about it, so I am no help. I know a crap ton about Thyroid if that becomes the issue.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I saw the revmatologist today and he said there is nothing revmatic that he could see, but he was worried there might be some issues with my thyroid so he did an ultrasound and some blood tests. Hopefully we'll know soon enough if that's the issue. He also said it wouldn't explain my muscle pain and that might be fibro(ish), but so far no answers.
