Default LOL, What was I thinking?

I'm having a birthday party for my 11-year-old son right now. He has 3 friends over and they're eating pizza and drinking soda (with the accompanying gross bodily noises). The energy level in here right now is through the roof. Oh, and they'll be here until 11am tomorrow. Plus, my hubby is out of town this weekend. Ack!!!

Oh, and two hours after the 11-year-olds leave, four of my my 13-year-old son's friends will be coming over for about 20 hours.

Oh well, at least the parties will be over for another year after this.

If. I. survive.

Can I offer you some air freshener? Maybe a candle or two. Oh and ear plugs.

You are a good Mama.

I'm extremely thankful that one of the boys he invited couldn't make it. I can't even imagine what 5 would be like

Oh, my goodness...I have an almost 5 year old boy and I can only imagine what it will be like when he is eleven and thirteen...if I make it until then!

It really wasn't my first choice, but Easter is the weekend after Steven's birthday and then Soccer and other sports will be going on and it would have been much more difficult to organize. I'm kind of glad we're doing it this way, though, because Sunday it'll be over for another year

I have two words... whoopie. cushion. Seriously, like there weren't enough real body noises, Steven just got a whoopie cushion as a gift and they're having a lot of fun with it

Sounds like that gift is a big hit!!! At least they're all having lots of fun and you have entertainment for the night (and tomorrow, too!)

The other night I had to tell my little boy that he could not burp out his prayer (of course, this was after he tried to do it).

LOL, you're a brave and good mother. My kids are never allowed to become tweens. They're going to stay little and cute forever. My 8-year old using the word "idiot" and laughing at bathroom jokes is the worst boy behavior I'll have to put up with. Yup. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Oh my goodness, Monica. Burping out his prayer? I probably shouldn't be laughing, but I am. That's so typically BOY!

All kidding aside, I'm really glad that Steven's having a good time. He didn't get to have a party for a couple of years for school/discipline reasons and when he was finally able to last year, only one friend was able to come. He still had a good time, but I think he's having more fun this year.

I survived. The parties both went well; much fun was had by all. I managed to get snacks ready for Sunday School and get us to church on time, then home for a very short nap and off to our small group yesterday afternoon. I had a hard time falling asleep last night because of the nap and am really tired today, but the weekend is over and was a success. Yay!!

My boys' birthdays are only a few weeks apart, so I have a feeling I'll be in your shoes once they get old enough!

You totally win the Mother of the Week award. And when they have children, you can totally remind them of how awesome you were to take that on.
