Wanna share any favorite crock pot dinners?
All these threads about stretching the grocery budget and meal planning have reminded me that I keep meaning to use my crock pot more.... but I don't have the motivation to go searching for a bunch of new recipes. Anyone wanna share with my lazy self?

I honestly love making a rotisserie chicken in it.....all I do is ball up like 6-7 balls of foil and put it on the bottom (keeps the chicken from sticking to the pot) and I cover it with s/p, season salt, garlic salt, and lemon peeper and cook it on high for about 4-5 hours that's it.....
I also like cooking a pot roast with 1 can of coke, 1 packet of gravy (mixed with water) and some onions and potatoes cut up and cook for 10 hours on low and I usually add an extra 1/2 cup of water |

I use my crockpot a ton! One of my favorites is chicken tacos.
4-6 frozen chicken breasts 1 large jar of salsa 1 package taco seasoning 1 8 oz block of cream cheese 1-2 cans of black beans (drained and rinsed OR use dry beans but precook them... this is what I do cause it's less sodium) Dump everything in the crockpot and cook all day on low (or 4-6 hrs on high) Serve either on tortillas or with rice or tortilla chips. Can top with cheese, guac, or sour cream if you like. Yum!! I haven't had this in ages because of the contest, but I'm SO making it this week. LOL |

We love to make pulled pork, I've tried several recipes but we like the taste of the McCormick packet doctored up a little bit. We also make baked potatoes in the crock pot at the same time, so one night we have bbq baked potatoes and then a few nights later we have pulled pork sandwiches.

I've gotten away from the crockpot over the past 6 weeks or so but I'll be firing it up again at the end of the month once Cheyanne's softball games get underway for the season. I'd post some but they're all meatless and probably not what you're looking for with hungry boys to feed!

Western Casserole
1 lb. ground beef, browned 1 can kidney beans, drained 1 can corn, drained 1 can tomato soup 1 Tbsp. chili powder 1 Tbsp. milk 1 cup cheddar cheese I like to put it all in on high for a few hours, or low for most of the day. My kids ask for this all the time!

Try this: Easy Pot Roast with Rich Tomato Gravy.
I love it on weeknights -- this dish feels like a Sunday dinner, but it's so easy! If your grocery stores sells frozen yorkshire puddings, pick some up. They make a great easy side. I also like lots of mashed potatoes to soak up the gravy. It's all yummy! |

Oh, and this one: Old South Pulled Pork on a Bun.
I make a coleslaw to go with it. And a sliced dill pickle. Yum! I don't cook meat at home often, so when I do, I want it to be delish. |

Here's a few from Pinterest:
http://pinterest.com/pin/70861394108732162/ http://pinterest.com/pin/70861394108158711/ ***(I made this one. It was good, but I wouldn't cook it as long, because the first time I made it, the noodles scorched to the pot. The second time, I cooked it on low for about four hours, and it turned out great. Kids would probably love this meal.) Good luck! |

I have a whole board on Pinterest where I've collected crock pot recipes. I've tried several and haven't been disappointed yet. My 2 favorites are Shrimp Chowder and the Mac N Cheese (but to feed a whole family it needs to be doubled). Feel free to follow my board.

I am always searching for new crockpot recipes. I need to find someone who feeds their family like I feed mine and then steal all of their recipes. LOL

My other favorite is bone-in chicken thighs and/or drumsticks. Add a little salt & pepper and let them go all day. The house smells delicious, they fall off the bone. Serve with mashed potatoes and a salad or make gravy and its wonderful! It also makes great chicken salad the next day if you have any leftovers.

This is a stand-by recipe I've done many times and though it sounds kinda weird because you don't put any liquid in it, it turns out super delicious - not dry at all...
http://pinterest.com/pin/79516749642068142/ I don't put the peppers in it though. And I usually season the roast with Nature's Seasons first before I put the ranch and au jous on it. I don't do tons in the crock pot because it seemed that every time I did, my meats would come out dry tasting. I've learned not to cook anything on anything but low.
