Default iPad pro/procreate

I've just had an impulsive moment and bought an iPad pro because I watched a procreate video yesterday lol, I'm android through and through so does anyone have any tips and tricks for the ipad/procreate for a newbie like me? Is it best to use an apple pencil with it? Because I fear I might get banned from the internet if I spend more money!

Can I print things that actually turn out ok and are they a good quality?

No advice but this has been on my radar for awhile and I wonder if it is something I might want to do or not. Curious to hear what others say. Congrats on your new purchase!

If you bought the ipad pro for procreate yes definitely the pencil!! That is the best tool for drawing and handlettering for sure

I just got the ipad and the apple pencil to use for designing. I am enrolled in a class with Shawna, and the tip she gave me was practice, practice, practice. Apparently it takes a lot of practice. LOL

To be honest, I have no idea honestly, it's my most impulsive purchase in a long time lol.

my middle uses her ipad pro and has a pencil--she can't do anything in Procreate without using the pencil. We are actually contemplating getting her a second pencil, because the pencil doesn't tell you when the batteries are dying and more often than not, she's without a pencil!

I've watched her play around with her procreate and seems like it's a lot like Photoshop, as far as layering, pencil tool, etc. It's smoother and has smooth lines. I love watching my daughter draw with her ipad!

Congratulations on getting this ipad! I can't wait to see what all you do with it!

I treated myself to both ipad pro and pencil last year, but haven't really found the time to practice much.

For drawing and things there are a few cool apps - procreate, adobe sketch and draw. I do like procreate best - you can import psds as layers and I really do love the tools. You can buy different types of brushes online. Lisa Bardot has some really cool ones

With adobe sketch you can import photoshop brushes which is awesome especially if you subscribe to photoshop CC because you can import all of those too.

Adobe draw is somewhat like illustrator but not really - it is vector based though

If you are wanting to do any type of scrapping you can get an app called affinity but I still prefer my computer.

I have an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. As long as the pencil is in use, you should be able to swipe to the right on the iPad to bring up Control Panel and it’ll tell you battery life. You can also charge the pencil from the iPad which I helps me a lot! (FYI, I have the 1st Gen Pencil)

My ipad brings up a notice when the battery is getting low too. It will say something like only 5% battery life remaining on the pencil
