Default Show me your first page EVER!

A non-scrapbooking friend on Facebook today was really curious about it after I've been posting some pages. So it got me thinking about how long I've had this hobby. I found my old gallery under my old user name (back in the day I was amystoffel) June 24,2008 I uploaded my first layout...and it's a doozy..show me yours!

I started paper scrapping almost 20 yrs ago and then started dabbling in digi about 10 yrs ago but it was about 8 years ago that I really got into it, over at 2Peas. That gallery is now gone.

I came to SSD 5 yrs ago and this is my first page here.

What a fun idea! I started scrapping in 2009, and started uploading in 2010 here at SSD. Here is my first layout:

This was my first layout I posted here at SSD and that's because I was a guest on Eva Kipler's ct!!

https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com...t-easy&cat=500

However, this layout was also a little over 5 years after I started digiscrapping!! All my earlier layouts are gone (as far as posted in galleries) because all of the websites have since closed down.

I had to look high and low on my computer, but I found my very first layout that I created in Paint Shop Pro in May 2005. I didn't even keep the layouts that I created in Word because they were THAT bad, plus I was still reading tutorials and never even posted them online because I had NO idea what I was doing!!

It uses some kit at Elemental Scraps (anyone remember that place??)
The image is SO stretched out, it's funny to look back at it. Boy I had no idea what I was doing then!

This is my first LO in the SSD gallery (April, 2013)

My first LO ever... Hmmm...I don't know that this was my first. I switched to exclusively digi in January 2012. This was created in August, 2011.

My first ever - from January 2009, using Paint Shop Pro. I remember being blown away by how good I thought this looked back then when this whole digi-scrapping thing was so new to me. That memory/feeling still makes me feel all warm and gooey inside, even though my LOs have improved substantially since then!

And this one a few weeks later - oh to hug my little boy like that again - but he's 11 now and way too big and heavy!

Here's my first layout that I posted here at SSD from 9/13/08, using designs by Misty Cato and Krystal Hartley:

My first layout I publicly shared was this one from 11/10/07, using designs by Krystal Hartley:

This is one of my first created in the spring of 2003. Please note that there were no kits or elements to purchase, and just one digital site at that time. This was before there was even a forum on that site for people to share things they had created. This is when you had to scan in traditional paper or use tubes from mommy message boards & use shapes from PS & hope for the best.

I remember Elemental Scraps well. I was a designer there until it closed. I met so many amazing people there!

My first layout was done in December of 2004... The kit was called Celebrate by Gina Cabrera. It was the first one I ever downloaded. You can tell I knew nothing about resizing. Look at that huge thumb tack and ribbon! I also knew nothing about shadowing. I was a die hard paper scrapper back then but we had just moved and my paper scrapping supplies were at the old house. I took this picture of my daughter and wanted to share it to my scrapping group.

This is the oldest I could find in any of my galleries. March 2014:

This is an old Cindy template with a collab from Melissa Bennett and Studio Flergs.

I have an older page or two from 2013 I think but they were more like slightly modifiable quick pages from a learn to digiscrap class I had taken.

This is my oldest SSD layout in May 2014. Also, add me to the list of people who knew nothing about shadows....for a looooong time! Lol...

I learned how to scrap by "tagging" and so I scrapped EVERYTHING in like 3 inch squares or something ridiculous - and I never could figure out why the elements were so dang big on my pages

Oh my! My first page took me almost 6 months to make! My hubby bought me Photoshop Elements for mothers day and I made my fist page in November on Veterans day.

All freebies from only God knows where.....
no shadows.....

This was my first attempt at using a template.... I had no idea I was supposed to clip my photo to the shape... mine just float above it...

More from the same project... my first digi pages and book on my favorite place....

People don't realize how good they have it these days with the digi-supplies that are available now! I remember taggers. I found a website where all of the kits were sized for taggers. I didn't realize it and had bought some stuff and couldn't end up using it for pages.

Like others I started before there was such a thing as digital kits. I bought so many magazines and searched the internet to teach myself how the heck to do this. This was one of my first layouts created (2004). Yep no kits so had to create everything on your own. I was giddy over creating that 'button'/'flair'.
And like others, I had all my first layouts on other sites that have since shut their doors. I've been a longtime Sweet *Shopper* but it took me ages to start posting here - mostly because of all the time I had invested in the other site and felt so deflated when it shut down. I wasn't ready to start uploading all over again.
I was *super* proud of this layout because it was even featured in a magazine at the time. Today it looks so basic! LOL my kiddos could do better now!

Here's my first layout posted in SSD 2016. It was for an Open House challenge. It was actually the challenges that got me to start posting in the gallery here.

Scrapbooking has evolved so much! That's why I feel if I get too far "behind" I'm going to want to start re-scrapping my older layouts because they look so different!

I can't say this is my first EVER but one of my firsts. I had an accidental HD wipe in 2012 so this one was in 2009 which is about when I first started digital scrapbooking.
