Change the layer mode of the high pass layer to overlay How do you do that? I don't see where I can do that. Help please!! |

It's a blending mode. The blending modes are located right next to the Opacity (on the left side of Opacity to be precise) in the Layers palette. By default, you have Normal, and you can change it to Overlay and many others.

I must be missing something, because I followed the steps to a T and it's all discolored and dark. I think I'll stick with my normal method.

I haven't read the instructions yet, but I use the High Pass for sharpening. Normally I duplicate my photo, do the High Pass and set it for Overlay afterwards - sometimes lowering Opacity to 50% or so if it's too much. I don't do it with LOs, just with photos really.

I must be doing it wrong, because it doesn't do that, it stays gray. Could someone tell me the exact step so I can try it.
