Default A slightly different summer idea thread...

So, I had literally just looked up the dates for swim lessons, but it looks like that kind of activity is out...

Anyone have any ideas on how to keep this kid calm yet stimulated and not bored out of her head for a while this summer? It just happened on Saturday, and she's already bored. I was trying to come up with some fun ideas to do at home. She's still having trouble moving her fingers, but I don't imagine that will take long to be able to do again. She likes computer games, she can do that easy with one hand, but I still want my scrappy time

Oh, no! I hope she heals quickly. I'd go haunt Pinterest for some fun cooking projects or other things that she can do one handed. Maybe buy some puzzle books (crosswords, mazes, etc.) if she's interested in that sort of thing.

Oh no! How'd she do that??? Did you get a waterproof cast? My son broke his arm a week before his 4th bday. That was interesting! :/. Does she like to read? New books would thrill my daughter!

My son broke his leg one summer. That was terrible. We did lots of movies and inside picnics and such. I didn't want him to get too sweaty outside to make sure it didn't get too itchy in the cast. It was a rough summer though.

Yea, I definitely don't want to do much outside, she's going to be miserable if she gets all sweaty!!

She ran into a wall *facepalm* Really. Missed the hall opening and ran right into the corner. Less than 2 minutes after her dad and I told both girls to quit running in the house.

We are signed up for the reading summer program at the library, so we go every thurs and have a fun morning there and get books, so that's a good help. I love the idea of the picnics in the house!! Something they can help put together, too. I wish we'd gotten a waterproof cast! Bathtime was not very fun today!! Might try out those journals, too.

Thanks so much for the ideas!! I was stumped all day trying to figure out how I'm going to keep her busy for half the summer while also trying to keep her in a bubble

Oh no! My daughter broke her arm the first week of our summer holidays last year. We got her a silicon cover so she could still swim. Well bob around and keep her arms out...but at least she could cool off.

Find a cool jigsaw puzzle that you can glue and hang on her bedroom wall when she's done with it
