Default IDIOT

Gawd my daughter's boyfriend is such an idiot. He really is. Aside from his inability to hold a full time job...he let his insurance lapse on his car because "he couldn't afford it" yet today the day the shuttle launches and the day the news said there would be an additional 1 million people in the area to watch the shuttle launch he decides he needs to be out driving. With his car that has no insurance. He hit two cars. One has some scuff marks on the rear and one got a flat tire. It is minor damage and nobody is hurt but he got 300 some dollars in tickets and then of course is going to be responsible for the damage on the vehicles! Then of course there is the fact that if you do not have insurance the insurance company notifies the state and they will pull your license. You have so many days to get a new policy before that happens . So I just warned my daughter about that. He is just not the brightest bulb in the box!! I mean we have been there where we could not afford to pay a bill but with insurance on a car you kinda either pay it or you don't not drive the car. Common sense there!!

Totally irresponsible. Forgive me for being nasty, but it would serve him right if his license was pulled and stayed pulled. But of course then it would be your daughter to do all the driving. Hmph.

That is VERY irresponsible... especially with all of the minimum coverage options available out there. Even if he can't afford GOOD insurance for his car, at least get something. For me, if I can't afford insurance, I probably shouldn't be paying the gas to be out driving, unless it's an emergency! (My insurance lapsed last month, but not because of my own fault-- my insurance company got rid of my policy, and forgot to let me know they were changing me to a different policy, and somehow for about 3 days I was insurance-less... mind you, nothing happened, but I made sure NOT to leave the house without insurance, except for ONE time, I needed to drive to the hospital. For me, that was a little different, and I needed to be out then!)

And, if he hit two people... it makes me wonder if he's always an unsafe driver, or if it was just extra traffic and everything else that played a factor in the accident. If he was always that unsafe, I'd seriously question getting in the car with him, definitely!

He totally should have his license revoked.. just my honest opinion... I'd hate to see your daughter have to cart his ass around though. Sorry that happened, such a pita!

What a knucklehead . . . here's hoping your DD dumps him soon & moves on to someone a whole lot smarter. It sounds to me like she wouldn't have to look hard to move up several notches on the ol' evolution ladder!

LOL Dee no she wouldnt. It just makes me mad because he does this stupid crap and then somehow convinces my daughter that its not really his fault. Its like she is blind to all the stupid stuff he does.

Oh so anyhow I did find out what happened. Because of traffic being so bad heading into town we went the other way out towards where my daughter lives. She was supposed to have to work but managed to get off so we went to see her. Apparently the first car he hit was traveling in a turning lane trying to pass everyone. He did not see her so he started to get over to make a right and she hit him. So then I guess he jerked back to the left and the car that was behind him was trying to pass him and he ended up hitting that car in the side. I think though because there was so much traffic they could not have been traveling at high speeds. I dont know though I was not there. His car does not seem to have damage anywhere but his front bumper. He is going to cover the damages to the other cars...he already paid for the tire which was damaged. I dont know...it still makes me mad that he can be so irresponsible but it does kinda sound like if traffic had not been so bad it might not have happened. But I told my daughter he had no business being on the road without insurance.

In TX they impound your car ON THE SPOT if you get pulled over with no insurance. Lucky he's in FL! How long have they been dating? I think my SIL is dating his twin brother! He wouldn't happen to have one in PA lol? She got back together with him after he stole money from her account and used it on drugs. Oh and he lives in his parents basement at 26 and is unemployed, at least IMO. His job is "DJ". In Center Valley. Like there is a huge demand for DJs. Argh, I want to smack some sense into her SO BAD. So yes, I kinda feel your frustration!

well lets see they started dating in 2009? Broke up and did not talk for about six months. Then in April of 2010 they got back together. At that time she was planning on staying home (meaning here with me and her dad) and going to college. We werent going to charge her rent and that way all she had to worry about was her own bills (gas, car, insurance etc) All of a sudden after they start dating she is moving out to live with him. No matter what I said she would not listen to me. She was 18 though so nothing I could do to make her stay so once she graduated high school she was ready to move. They were officially living together as of June 25th 2010 Its been a year and he has been through three jobs, wrecked his best friends motorcycle because he does not know how to ride one (yea he is so intelligent) and now the wreck today. I suppose today could have happened to anyone though with all the added traffic and alot of them being tourists who do not know the roads very well so I tried to just keep my opinions to myself. She will figure it out eventually I hope.
