Default I need a haircut so badly

My hair is like 8 feet long. Ok not really. But it's too long. Down more than half my back I reckon. Getting to the length that the combination of waves length and weight of it make brushing it out a complete nightmare. Ugh.

I just don't know what I want to do with it. So I knot it up into a bun and ignore the problem lol. I'm going to end up rage shaving it off I swear.

You and me both. I used to wear my hair super short. Like maybe 2-3" long. I started letting it grow 18 months ago. It is now shoulder length. And thick. Oh my word, thick. I at least need to go get it thinned and I'd really like to get an inverted bob. I'm too cheap to go to a place where you have to make an appointment and keep forgetting to check the salon at Walmart when I'm there.

In the meantime, my shower looks like there's a Wookie showering in it. Hair everywhere.

And unfortunately for me, not long enough to put up yet.

I just got a haircut after having gone over a year without cutting it at all - not even a trim! I just hate spending money on that. I'm not one who finds that a fun way to spend money at all.

I have been growing mine out... trying to get it long again. So far so good. Luckily I have a sister who is a hair stylist. LOL saves tons on hair appointments and products.

This is me! I am used to my hair being short. Hair goes everywhere when I brush it!

I was in desperate need of a cut... and I have truly horrible hair, which makes it extremely difficlute to find anyone who can cut it [ie: very fine but lots of it, so straight it's concave and shrinks a ton when it's dry]. so Thursday night I'd had enough & just went into the bathroom and started hacking away. it may not be perfect, but it's loads better.
the end result :

I have a sister-in-law who has cut my hair for $5 a cut for the past 10 years (ever since we moved back to Maine). That said, I still only have it done a few times a year (when I can't stand it in my eyes anymore and I'm tired of hacking at my bangs myself )

As you can see from my new avi it leaves a lot to be desired! But I mostly pull it back into a clip when I'm working and let it down when I'm out of the house. It's naturally wavy/curly, thick, but fine and it just kind of drives me nuts. I used to have short hair but never really liked it because the shorter the curlier it is. I never use a blow dryer on it either so it has to be able to just air dry with no styling involved.

Do NOT go all Britney on us!

I have an appointment on Tuesday for a cut. My hair salon has online appointment bookings which I love. When I went to schedule my appointment, I looked back to see how long it had been since my last one, and it was July 2012. Sooo, yeah, I guess I'm due for a cut.

I thought your hair looked fabulous in your video, btw.

Mine was like that - but down to my waist...it was taking a good 20 minutes to get the knots out after I washed it...and the pile of hair left after was making me think I had to be going bald I used to trim it myself, it's wavy so it was hard to tell how crooked I made it, lol! I finally went & got a foot taken off, it felt soooooooooo much better! I need to go again...but it took me almost 7 years to go the first time, I hate going to get my hair cut, I'd rather go to Target...

I think I'm in the minority in this thread - but I love going to the salon! I like everything about the experience from the moment I walk in and they offer a cup of tea. It's my me-time mini-break every month and a half. (I probably also like it since I got bangs last year and they'd drive me nuts if I didn't have them cut regularly.)

Put me in the camp of once a year hair cut... haha... I'm like sara, I can find other ways to spend money than dropping $100 for a haircut and style. And my DH really doesn't mind if I would go more often... but I just don't. I've had so many bad haircuts in my life and them cutting me, that I just stay away....

I go to get mine trimmed every six months. My hair is in the middle of my back. I'm trying to get it waist length before cutting it for locks of love. I thought 20.00 was extreme to wet it, cut it, and blow dry (after I told her not to). I have to wash my hair after it's cut. So I don't see the need in them blow drying/styling it.

I got mine done about 6ish weeks ago - probably wont get it done til after im finished this school period in mid feb & anyway no hairdresser wants my hair at the moment anyway (treating a course of head lice/nits atm). Since I have moved almost 4 years ago I have gone to the same walk in place but luckily they operate a system that if you want your fav hairdresser you can wait for them or you can go to the first available. There are two hairdressers there that I will use who know my hair well and do a great cut - thick at the back and thin at the front

I am a hair hacker...I put it in a pony tail about every 3 months , pull it up to the top of my head, and cut off about 3 inches every time I go to a hairdresser, I say I want this, I get it over my ears, ridiculously not what I asked for anyways. Edited to add, my avi is 2 years old, lol

I used to hate to go to the salon. The thought of spending so much money on a haircut, and then hating it or it being something I totally didn't want. I found a walk-in place call The Haircuttery (I think it's a chain). I took my daughters there first to try it out (sneaky mom, I know!). Then I went back with a simple update to my then current cut and gave them a try. It worked out well and now I go there every 2-3 months to get my hair cut and my eyebrows waxed. It's not a super fancy salon or anything. But, I only pay $ and that is to get my hair washed, cut and, when I feel like splurging, blow dried and then my eye brows done. I find it's a lot less stressful of an environment because it's not a high end salon and the ladies there are pretty darn nice. I don't even have to bring a picture of what I want anymore because now they know me.

I had to give several local places a try before I found one that a truly like, but nothing feels better than getting your hair cut and looking good and not feeling like you could have bought a whole bunch of other stuff instead!

Good luck finding a place you like La! Maybe Ce can cut it for you. :P

I hear you lol. Mine's the longest it's been in forever. I hate growing it out because A. it's so dang thick and B. because it doesn't grow straight. The left side is shorter than the right no matter WHAT. But I'm no help because Idk what to do with it either ha! I hate getting it cut as well don't worry.
