Are you all ok?
I am seeing the news at the moment and I am not happy seeing the footages of Sandy.
I hope you are all ok. Love Leontine

I've been texting my sister in NJ who hasn't had power since yesterday. A big tree came down from across the street, took out all the power lines and is literally touching her front door. Another tree is lying on her neighbors house. It's definitely going to be a long cleanup for the East Coast.

We're doing okay here in Northern VA. It's still a little rainy and windy, but not as bad as yesterday. Many of my local friends were without power at some point over the last day, but we've been lucky so far. Thankfully the power substation is close and the wires on my end of the street are buried. We've had power outages in the past, but they're not too frequent and don't tend to last very long. (and now I've probably just jinxed myself!)
ETA: My sister in CT has power, but my parents in MA don't. |

Been watching the news on NYC. Wow!
Down here in my part of VA we just have some downed tree branches & 15,000 without power in the immediate area - partly due to wind/tree and party due to the sudden appearance of a blizzard in the middle of the hurricane rain. Blizzard. In the middle of a hurricane. Living on the east side of the Blue Ridge Mountains is always interesting weather in fall/winter. |

I was wondering the same thing. Dawn, best wishes to your family and their neighbours. And I hope her neighbours are not the family we've been hearing about here.

NH made it through very well considering. We had quite a bit of flickering but only lost power for 10 minutes max. I'm surprised by how many of my friends in remote areas still have power, but I know a lot have lost it. It's no worse, or even better than your average Nor'Easter' though, so we were all prepared.
I can't believe the devastation on the coast and in NYC! My prayers go out for all those who are worse off than we are.

We were pretty unscathed up here - just some minor flooding along the coast and along rivers/lakes as far as I have heard. Never lost power and only got a few inches of rain here. Still a bit windy and still raining off and on today, but nothing bad at all.
Been talking with my cousin in CT and some really good friends who live on Long Island and it is so devastating to hear first hand what it's like down there I hope Alisa and everyone else in the city areas are all okay! |

I'm pasting this update from another thread...sorry if you're reading it twice!
I'm in VA, and our power just came back on. Luckily the lack of power was our most serious problem. I have family in NY and CT, and they've got crazy stories. My sister and her family live in a high rise in Manhattan a few blocks from the East River. All the buildings between them and the river were in that Zone A that was evacuated, but their building was the start of the next zone. During the storm their building was entirely surrounded by water up to the level of car windows. Thankfully it has receded now, but it sounds like it's going to be a long time until things are back to normal. My brother is a couple of miles away from her, and he never even lost power. My sister's inlaws are in Long Island (NY), and a tree came through their roof. Luckily no one was hurt, but there's a lot of damage.

Blessed to be in the south right now, but praying for everyone affected by this disastrous storm.
Adrianka, Can you tell me which digi kit(s) you used to make your siggy? Love the soft colors, butterfly, and little girl. ♥ |
