I like videos but with written steps included to follow along during or after.

Me too...I like to see how others do the steps (video) but then when I go to actually do them myself I need something written. Many times I will watch a video and pause and write steps so I can do it on my own later. Have a whole notebook full of things like that!

It depends on what it is. Generally I like bullet point lists, sometimes with screenshots that match the steps. I'm normally too impatient for videos, I just want to know what the steps are!!

I like written processes. If pictures are included that's ok, but I cannot handle videos. Too long, who has time for that.

Succinctly written + screen shots or visuals.

I'd second screen shots too. I don't use Photoshop but have access to it and there are some things I'd like to try but so many tutorials assume the user has really high knowledge and go from point a to point h and then they've lost me.

Written directions with screenshots is my preference, too. If it's something complex or with many steps, I love to have the ability to print it and make notes as I work through it.
I need to really, really want to learn something to take the time to watch a video. And like others have said, on the rare occasion that I do watch the video it's hard to replicate without written instructions.

I do not have the time, patience or connectivity for videos. I prefer the step by step info graphics.

Plus, I forget what I watched, and it's totally a pain to go back and pause the video as I work.

I also just finished a course to learn more about excel. It was 100% video and even though they were short, it was frustrating at times because she moved through the steps so quickly. Since I tried to do the same thing as she did it, pausing to catch up was a hassle. I even had to google to find written instructions to clarify what she was talking about. Then it sunk in! |

I am a visual learner. I like things written out, but with photos or graphics. This also helps if I want to go back to the information again. Videos are annoying because I would have to stop and start too much to follow along.

I'm a visual and audio learner so a video would be best but I also like to come back to a script to just find the one part I need more easily than re watching the whole video.
