Default June 2010: Scrapper's Portfolio & Tracker

Hey Chicklets!!

We're almost at the half-way point of 2010, and with kids getting out of school for a break, we hope you'll have some extra time to relax and scrap with us this month. There are so many fun prompts in this month's portfolio, so let's get right to it!

For ease of reference, we've created a printable checklist of this month's portfolio. Click the link below to download and print!

As always, you MUST use primarily Sweet Shoppe products to complete your challenge layouts.

June 2010: Sweet Shoppe Scrapper's Portfolio

One Point Tasks - 20 Primary Points Possible

1 - Lift a layout by Novita Solihin, our Treat of the Month for June, and get to know her better in this month's special feature.

2 - School's Out! Create a layout that celebrates the end of the school year.

3 - June is the most popular month for weddings! Scrap a wedding page.

4 - Inspired by The Pioneer Woman, scrap a recipe you love with step-by-step pics!

5 - Use the amazing inspiration at The Visual Dictionary to photograph fabulous font work for use as the titlework on a layout.

6 - Famous Birthdays - pick a celebrity birthday a scrap a page inspired by that person. From a memorable TV show, to lyrics from a song, to a famous painting that made an impression on you - be inspired!

7 - Use the adorable retro-inspired clothing at Moppet Frocks to create a fun and funky layout that features a little peace, love and happiness!

8 - Happiness is......? Photograph it then scrap it!

9 - In honor of Judy Garland's birthday on June 10th, use ROYGBIV in a layout!

10 - Summer Plans - What does your family have planned for the school break? Scrap it!

11 - What's on your Summer reading list?

12 - The Incredible Shrinking Template is back again. Use a template and shrink its features for a whole new look!

13 - June 8th is Banana Split Day! Scrap your favorite ice cream treat.

14 - Seasonal Spin - if it's Summer where you are, scrap a Winter page or vice versa!

15 - Lift Yourself. That's right, go back and lift a page you love from your own gallery. Don't forget to share the original page with us too.

16 - HOT - Scrap It!

17 - Stay-cation - there's lots of fun to be had at home on a small budget. Show us your family's favorite stay-cation activities!

18 - Celebrate Nature Photography Day on June 15th by photographing and scrapping something gorgeous from nature.

19 - Paper Inspired Websites - Use one of these cool sites as inspiration for the composition of your next page. Lots of great stuff to layer, frame and write on, so have fun with this one!

20 - June looks like... Take a photo looking out your front door or a window, standing on your driveway or front porch or even what your kids are wearing today and scrap it! You'll see this challenge again and again throughout 2010, so choose a spot or subject which will illustrate the passage of time or seasons changing in an easy to capture photo.

Two Point Tasks - 20 Primary Points Possible

21 - Use the thought provoking inspiration at Baby Love Letters to choose a topic and create a layout which includes a letter to your child, a loved one or even yourself. (let us know which love letter prompt you were inspired by in your portfolio point tracker post too)

22 - Use the word of the day at wordnik.com in the title or journaling of a layout! Be sure to tell us the day you picked your word.

23 - Scrap an ABC list! Use the samples at Bella Online for inspiration!

24 - June 15th is Fly A Kite Day! Go fly a kite and scrap it!

25 - There's some pretty fantastic type inspiration at the Ritzy Bee Blog. Check it out and use it as inspiration on your next layout.

26 - Now & Then - we loved seeing your little ones now and then, so put those photos to use with some meaningful journaling to create a sentimental page about how fast the time has gone by.

27 - Tell Your Story - Is there a story you love to tell about that one time your little one did something absolutely adorable, or how you passed out when you're husband popped the question? Whether you have photos or not, scrap that story so it's recorded for generations to come.

28 - One Kit 2 Ways - use the same kit to scrap two layouts.

29 - Principles of Design: Repetition - learn about it and use it on a page.

30 - "I never knew how much I loved your father, until I saw how much he loved you" - unknown

In honor of Father's Day, scrap a tribute to dad.

Five Point Tasks - 10 Primary Points Possible

31 - Book of Me 2010 - this year SSD is encouraging you to create a Book of Me Album! So often we focus on scrapping everyone else in our lives, but we're challenging you to record more of who YOU are on a regular basis throughout the year too. Pick 3 of the 5 topics below and scrap 3 layouts to earn 5 points:

31a - 10 Good Choices I've Made In Life...
31b - 10 Bad Choices I've Made In Life...
31c - I Collect...
31d - If I Were Queen For A Day, I Would...
31e - My Wildest Dream Is...

32 - In June 1967 The Beatles released their album "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" - pick 3 song titles from the album and use them as inspiration to scrap 3 layouts & earn 5 points:

1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
2. With a Little Help from My Friends
3. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
4. Getting Better
5. Fixing a Hole
6. She's Leaving Home
7. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!
8. Within You Without You
9. When I'm Sixty-Four
10. Lovely Rita
11. Good Morning Good Morning
12. Day in the Life

Ten Point Task - 10 Primary Points Possible

33 - Paper Bag Albums - Create a paper bag album with a minimum of 3 paper bags (6 double-sided pages). These little albums are great because not only are they easy, they can be expanded to fit your needs too!

Your album can be on any topic you like, but keep in mind that the bag halves form natural pockets for storing mementos so they lend themselves perfectly to travel albums or mini-school days books! Don't skip this challenge because you're afraid of hybrid - you can do it! Here's some amazing inspiration...

Learn How Here, Here or Here.

Check out some AMAZING inspiration at 2Peas too!

Flex Tip - Be Creative! If the challenge is asking for a TOP 10 of your favorite TV shows, feel free to scrap your husband's or child's favorite shows instead! If it's asking a question, feel free to ask the question of a loved one and scrap a page for them instead. The only time this wouldn't apply is to your Book of Me album which should be a stunning tribute to YOU!
___________

DON'T FORGET! As you complete layouts for our challenges, you'll be tracking them yourself in one post that you'll update throughout the month. For June, all layouts and points need to be posted by 11:59pm EST at the end of the day on July 1st. If you're joining us for the first time this month, have a look at the amazing portfolio tracker threads from previous months to see how it's done!

1) Post to claim your tracker spot for the month.
2) When you finish a layout for a challenge, upload it to the gallery and right click to get the image information for your layout.
3) Return to your tracker spot you claimed in this thread, and click edit to add the image of your layout to your portfolio. You'll want to add your layout in order of the numbered list above and include that number and the points earned above your image.
4) At the very end of your portfolio, please keep a running tally of the total points earned to date.

PLEASE NOTE: Portfolio points may NOT be carried over into the following month as each month begins anew with a fresh set of inspiring challenges! Additionally, you may NOT use the same layout for more than one numbered task - each task requires a new layout.

Please don't post chatter or comments in this thread as we'd like to keep it clean and easy to check at the end of the month. If you want to give praise to your favorite prompts or layouts, feel free to chatter as much as you like in our General Info & Chatter Forum. Thanks!!

Looking to make your scrapbooks Hot! Hot! Hot!

Robin
