Does anyone send cards anymore?
I'm looking ahead to November and starting to plan out the next "Think Outside the Album" project. And I'm starting to rethink what I originally had written down...
Does anybody send physical cards in the mail any more? The project I was going to show is a perpetual calendar-slash-card holder. They make great gifts for family members, especially when you pre-fill the birthdays for them. But if nobody actually sends snail-mail greeting cards these days, it's kind of a moot point. I want to make sure the content I'm creating for y'all actually meets your needs. So, thoughts? |

I do! I make traditional paper cards & give/send them out often! I might be the minority tho... Your project sounds super fun!

I'm not sure I'm understanding your project but I'd love to see!
I still send Christmas cards, mostly a photo of us with a written message on it.

I don't send as many as I once did but I do still send some. I give more of them in person, esp birthdays. And I send Christmas cards.

Trina is correct! It’s a sort of a notebook, spiral bound on the edge, where each page is made of cardstock. And it’s one page for each month, January through December. There’s a pocket at the bottom of each page you can slide cards in, and the top of the page has lines for each day of the month. The idea is you write all the birthdays and anniversaries for your family on the appropriate month page, on the line for the day. And when you find or make a card for someone whose birthday is coming up but you’re not ready to mail it yet, you slide it in the pocket for that month and you don’t lose it.
It’s called a “perpetual calendar” because you use it year after year without having to replace it - because there are no days of the week listed. I hope I explained that clearly! It’s a kind of unique project, but I made one for my mother in law nearly 15 years ago and she still uses it to this day. |

Oh, hey, I found something similar you can order from Amazon, but when you make it yourself you can print the birthdays right on your page (no handwriting!) and customize all your graphics. But this is the basic idea.

I don't any more, as snail mails mostly get lost here or arrive in forever
Ever since little, I always always love going to card shops and I always had a wonderful time browsing around a hallmark card shop, when I was living in Liverpool, UK, every time I go to city centre. However, such card shop does not exist here, it makes me sad.

I like your card project idea! I do still send cards, but not as often as I used to.

I do! I make the vast majority of mine with my Silhouette Cameo. I've got so much paper scrapbooking stuff that I need to use. Right now, I need sympathy card ideas. I'm behind in getting them out.
Angie, I would love to see your project!
