Default Kindle Deals

Our other thread had gotten pretty long so let's start a new one for a new year

Many Kindle deals are for a limited time so be sure to check the price before you make a purchase. Also I'm pretty sure that Kobo and Nook are good about price matching when there is a sale for Kindle.

I am listening to this on audio right now and it's AH-mazing. If you're a fan of epic high fantasy this is perfect.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (High Fantasy)

2.80 for Kindle as of 1/13

Even if this sounds like something you wouldn't be interested in trust me..it's awesome!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (Adult Dystopian)

1.99 for Kindle as of 1/13 (this is photo-heavy so if you don't read on a tablet I probably wouldn't grab it)

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children YA Paranormal

1.99 for Kindle as of 1/13

A Burnable Book by Bruce Holsinger (Historical Fiction)

I've been trying to decide if I should get Kindle Unlimited. My issue is I grab books when I see them, and some I might not read for months. Do the Kindle Unlimiteds stay in your account forever, just like ones I'd purchase? Anyone know?

You can "check out" up to 10 books at a time and there are no due dates

Hm... so one I have 10, I have to read at least one in order to get another. More like a library card than a purchase at a bookstore. Thank you for the info!

I am doing a trial of Kindle Unlimited...its a 30 day free trial you should try it. I am thinking I am not so happy with the available books though. More often than not the ones I want to read are not included. Now that is not to say there is nothing I am reading... but they are ones I would not have gone looking for, so how much is it really going to save me in the end.

That's how I feel too Tanyia... I haven't done Kindle unlimited because of that reason. None of the books I've bought in the last 4-6 months have had the KU icon so I don't know that it'll have the books I want.

I'm not doing Unlimited for that reason either.

Plus, I've got literally HUNDREDS of books sitting unread on my Kindle, I borrow ebooks from my local library, I get Prime lending, and 1 free book a month through Kindle First. Being as my goal for the year is 25 books, I think I've got plenty to choose from. LOL

I did KU for a month and it wasn't bad. More and more books are being added all the time. It's kind of like how netflix was at the start- not a lot of streaming titles, but now there are plenty.

They way I understand it is the KU books are books that are only sold at Amazon...I could be wrong though. I am a KU subscriber. To me, the $10/month is worth it. I read a lot of books and am open to reading new things/authors.

Yes I get several emails a day from different sites...most of the time it's not much I'm interested in but sometimes they have some good ones listed.

I have a paperwhite too. It's pretty much just an ereader where the fire is more of a tablet. I am on the computer so much and have a smartphone so I rarely use the "tablet / app" features of the fire, so the paperwhite is exactly what I wanted. It's a beautiful ereader, has a matte screen that you can read in any lighting and is awesome if you are just looking to have kindle books and deals at your fingertips!

That's what I love about the Paperwhite too. I have the first version & it's still going strong. I like to read on my iPad and my girls each have Kindle Fires but the Paperwhite is my go-to reader. The screen & e-ink help my eyes so much.
