Default What size font do you use for....a 12 x 12 layout?

Quick Question- What size font do you use for journaling for layouts that will be printed out as 12 x 12? What size font do you use for a layout printed at 8 x 8?

I know that it often depends on which font you use, but generally speaking what do you tend to journal with in these 2 sizes?

Depending on the font, I use anything between 9-13 for a 12 x 12 layout. For Arial for example I usually use 11.

it depends on how much journaling i'm doing. less journaling? bigger font. more journaling? smaller font. but the average size is either 11 or 12 for me.

I create my LOs as 12x12 but print them as an 8x8... I usually use around a 12 point font if its something like Century Gothic, sometimes I need to go closer to 18 if it's a smaller font

I print most of my pages at 12x12. I use 11 point for the handwriting style fonts (give or take a pt. depending on how readable it is) and as low as 8 pt. for typewriter and sans-serif ones. But, if I ever do need to print my 12x12 pages as 8x8's the 8 pt. fonts are too tiny to read. To be safe, I prefer to keep everything at 11 or 12 pt. Hope this helps!!

I generally use a 12 (and scrap 12x12). I normally zoom in to about 23% to see if it looks the right size, and I print at 11x11, so this works out well for me.

No matter what size font you use, or style, do what Lizzy says - reduce it to 25% in your program..and see what you think it looks like there. That way you can get a feel for how easy it is for you to view and read depending on how thick or fine it is, how intricate it is, etc.

There have been times when I got layouts printed and when I got them back I'm like "whoa, that's some big writing!!" LOL

So, good advice up there!

I usually use around an 11 or 12. There are a few fonts though that seems HUGE! so I scale that down even more to a 9 or 10.

I generally go for around the 12pt mark, but will up it if the font is hard to read. That being said, I've never had any layouts printed, so I don't know how that size would look when printed

My normal is a 12-14pt. I write large, so to me it's like what I would journal.

I had that happen and hate how the layouts look. Much better now and I zoom in and see what it would look like printed and get a better result.

My fonts are sized anywhere from 12-18 pt. It really depends on the font used.

I range from 10-18...I write REALLY big so I tend to go on the bigger side, especially with my handwriting font.

12 for a typed font
14-16 for a handwriting font
10-12 for 'caption' work like a date, the people's names e.g. not the main journaling
