Default Light Room How-To's

So, since I subscribed to the adobe creative cloud a few weeks ago I now have all this access to any adobe program I want (yay!!!).

Today I'm took some Christmas photos and I'm dying to try my hand at playing in light room - so I installed it and opened it and I'm a little overwhelmed...

I think I get the basic concepts... maybe??? I would love to hear if you guys can recommend any tutorials or give me some basic tips - something to get me started down the right path because I feel a little bit random in there right now!

Shawna, I had lightroom for just a little while before my other computer crashed. I had it long enough to get the basics, and I loved it. For me, the fastest way to learn was to watch the Lightroom tutorials by Adobe on YouTube. They're awesome, and so very helpful for beginners right through to advanced users.

Kayla Lamoreaux (http://www.kaylalamoreaux.com) has a lot of stuff on her blog about using Lightroom to organize photos and digital supplies. Her free class, Lightroom for Memory Keepers (http://www.kaylalamoreaux.com/lightr...emory-keepers/) is where I learned the basics of Lightroom. Once I understood how to get my photos and supplies into LR, I really just started playing around in the develop module.

I've been working on learning LR too. I took Kayla Lamoreaux's class at Jessica Sprague's site. THe class was good, but was more on how to tag and learn the library module which is important but she doesn't go into the develop module at all. I've also watched a lot of Julianne Kost's videos at the adobe site-she is adobe's lightroom guru. Many of the tutorials are found on her blog http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/lightroom-training-videos
She explains things well and walks you through the process although some of the videos are pretty long.

I also found some good tutorials on Katrina Kennedy's blog at http://captureyour365.com/category/p...phy/lightroom/

Hope those help!
