Default Decorating Question....

I have medium colored baseboards and doors {not cherry but not too light} and I want to paint my bedroom grey....do you think it would work? I also want to buy a new comforter so I know I could pick pretty much any color to go with Grey....or maybe I could paint 1 wall a nice color and the rest grey? My bedroom is HUGE, like 20x30 and all we have in it is a bed and a nightstand It is just so boring!!!!

I think you could go with grey, but make sure it is a 'warm' grey.

I have used this site to play with color options. You may like it too!

Grey is a neutral tone so it would totally work. I would just pick up a bunch of paint chips and tape them up next to the woodwork to see which shade of grey you like best with that tone of wood.

with a room that big I would defenitely get some big comfy chairs to put in a corner for reading/using laptop/just hanging out alone in the bedroom!!

Something like this:

with some cute throw pillows.

Anyhow grey would work. I tend to go neutral in colors for my walls. Not white but not much color. Like slightly off-white...my living room when I get my new sofa/chair I am doing dark brown, light aqua and a soft olive green.

That 1st comfortor set would be so pretty, you could make your own stencil or draw some of those same elements on the wall & pop them in the bright green/white on the grey.

I like the first inspiration or either comforter. I like the pattern of the first comforter better, but the yellow accent color better than the green. Whatever you decide, I'd pick a comforter before you paint so you know it will work together.

And for a huge, empty bedroom I'd second the idea of comfy chairs or a loveseat. I'd also do a small table with some accent pieces on it.
