Thumbs down Oh no...here they come!

Ants that is! The girls were playing downstairs today (where DH sleeps because he snores so loud, but it's also their playroom) and Kristen comes upstairs saying she killed 3 ants. I went downstairs and spent the next half hour staring at the floor and killing ants and most of them were crawling around DH's bed (mattress and boxspring on the floor) I am just waiting for him to say he's sleeping upstairs with me again which sucks because then I won't be able to sleep because of his snoring! I don't blame the guy though...I'd be so freaked that an ant would crawl on me during the night! ICK!!

I hate ants. I get them in my kitchen sometimes, still haven't figured out where they are getting in.

We have ants now too. It's inevitable, every year just before the start of summer. They make me There was a group that likes to hang out by microwave and I'm always killing them. Today I looked under the microwave and (Duh should have known) there was a popsicle stick left there by a certain 7 year old who lives here Any little thing will bring the whole freaking ant tribe to your house. Ugh.
That's ok though. I'm outta here this weekend- hopefully. Lawyer meeting on Thursday and then we will never pay rent again! Woooooohoooo buying a little house Yay!

Here's a little tip, Ants hate cinnamon!!! Sprinkle some cinnamon along their little trails and close to where you think they may be entering through the walls and such. Cinnamon scented candles seem to help too,

Make sure you are using real cinnamon, not fake cinnamon, or it won't work. Also, cinnamon oil works even better than powder, plus it smells good,

Give it a try,

Ugh - that is not cool!

Have you tried Terro Syrup? You can get it at Lowe's, Home Depot, and some grocery stores. I had to use it last month and in less than 24 hours the ants were GONE!

Good luck!!

We always get them in the kitchen-EVERY YEAR!
We use Tarro baits and that seems to kill them off for a few weeks, but they always come back...always. I have no idea where they come in but I'm about to call the exterminator because they drive me INSANE!

I am convinced they come in on the dog, or the kids but we are lucky so far....only a few here and there. I am sure it will get worse though. Those little plastic ant traps work really well though!!!!

**ACK** we get them bad in the Spring...those big nasty freaky carpenter ants!!! **ACK** it makes my skin crawl just thinking of them!!

get to a store and pick up the Ortho Home Defense and spray EVERYWHERE outside (it safe for kids and pets) and they will be gone in no time that's what always works for us!!!

Good luck!! (as I sit here itching my head because ants creep me out )

I didn't read this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been suggested yet but here goes....

We have had wonderful luck with Ant Bait Traps. They're little pods of ant poison that you just place in a few different areas of the affected part of the home. Then, when the ants go in there and eat the posion, they take it back to their nest and it kills the entire nest of ants. Poof!! No more ants! Its actually pretty brilliant because there is no way you can kill each ant one-at-a-time, ya know? Plus, the little pod is safe for most little ones (with the exception of little ones that will put it in their mouths) and most pets.
Ants suck so bad, so I hope you get rid of them soon! Good luck!!

I feel your ant-y pain, dawg.

They seem to enjoy my bathroom. I find most of them in there when I'm showering/getting ready in the morning. They are the flying ones, too. Ugh.
