Default has anyone had Subway lately?

i think they've done away with the $5 footlongs. and is it just me or has their bread shrank? DH and I both swear the footlongs just look skinnier, lol. it costs $28 for me, DH and his 2 footlongs, and three kid packs for the kids to eat there. i prefer Quiznos. but its way on the other end of town, lol.

We just had it Sunday... at least in our area they brought back that all the subs were $5 each for a limited time... that might be regional. Otherwise only select subs are $5 each for foot long. I don't remember about the size difference...

I luv Subway...I never did footlongs though, so I don't know!

I can't stand Quizno's. Isn't that funny how we all like different things?

As of last week my Subways still had $5 footlongs but only on the selected ones. I like Quizno's too but I have to be in the mood for either one.

well, the last time i was there they had the little list of $5 subs on the glass. today i didn't see the sign anywhere. thats why i think they might have stopped it, atleast here. it didn't cost anymore than usual so thats why i'm confused, lol.

LOL! Sunday must have been the day for Subway. We had the exact same deals at ours. The subs seemed the same size.

I just had Subway last night and haven't noticed any difference. I only get a 6-inch though and I load it up with veggies, so even if there is less bread, I probably wouldn't notice it.

They probably just didn't proof their bread right and that is why they were skinny. We never eat there anymore because of DS's allergies, but I worked there eons ago and if we didn't proof the bread right (too short too long) then they ended up skinny. And yes the promotions are regional and also depending on the store since they are a independently owned franchise.

I haven't been for a while so I don't know about the $5 footlongs. But their bread is the same size as always. What matters is whoever prepped the bread (they come in thin dough sticks) didn't proof it long enough in the proofer so it didn't rise as much... and it was skinnier. (I was an assistant manager there a few years ago....haha)

lol, thanks for your input. its the first time we've noticed it so that's probably the reason behind skinny bread, lol. we eat there a lot. i didnt mind but DH is a pig, lol.

We used to eat at subway a lot for lunches, but it's sooooo much cheaper to just buy lunch meat and bread from the deli.

I have Subway once a week for lunch. They actually just put my fave sub on the $5 footlong menu. I'll never get it mind you, but it's there anyway. :lol

I buy the footlongs and save the other half for my next meal cause it seemed like whenever they cut them into 6", I get the side that is only 4". lol They never cut even!
