I LOVED this Celeste!!! Your gallery is always one I love to browse for inspiration and your layouts are always just so PERFECT!!!

I took CathyZ's Design Your Life class when I first started digi and I love the concepts you talk about in your tutorial... because they even make for a great foundation for the clustery, layery layouts too...

Tiling the papers behind the layout so you can see them all is pure GENIUS! Thanks for the great tutorial, Celeste. I may even attempt one of these clean simple layouts myself.

I loved reading this, when I used to scrapbook (in a former life before hybrid cardmaking took over my life!) I was a subscriber to Simple Scrapbooks and I've always been drawn to the detailed simplicity of it. Thanks for the article, it was really interesting

Up until the past couple of years my scrapping was very minimalistic. I've only recently started adding more 'stuff' to my layouts. Great blog entry!

When I first read the title I was thinking more along the lines of minimal living and thought you had some great tips for us, Traci. LOL

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy of that issue around here somewhere. How cool! Simple Scrapbooks mag was my favorite - I still miss it.

Would you say the way you build your paper pages has influenced the way you build your digital pages? Because I thought it was interesting how you layered things, like adding a neutral background first, photos next, etc. since that's very much how you'd have to build a page with paper.

Love the tip about tiling papers - I'm going to have to try that.

Great read! Celeste you are uber talented. I love a simple page and I also love pages with lots of stuff, but what I really love is learning how really good scrappers do things. Thanks for sharing your secrets.

No there's an option in Photoshop that will tile all the windows for you. I'm on my phone so I can't look but I think it's under the Window menu.

Lynette -yes it might be my paper background that makes me do it that way. I definitely start with photos. Even if I have a kit to start with the photos always go first.

That was so great, Celeste! I'm a huge lover of patterned papers, and even though I don't scrap minimally, I'm going to experiment using your tricks and tips!
Thank you!

I never thought I "liked' the simpler cleaner scrapping style cause I do love me some product, so I almost didn't read it but I'm glad I did because I DO like the photos to take center stage and I do like for things to line up and I really learned a lot Now if I could just make myself scrap...... that's another story for another thread! LOL
