NE1 from Lousiana (Baton Rouge, Plaquemine area)?

We may be moving sometime w/in the next year. Nothing is definite but we've been told to entertain the idea (from hubby's boss).

So anyone from those areas? I'd love to know more about those areas and what areas are good places to look for homes, etc.

ETA: Dummy me left an 'i' out of Louisiana.

We lived in New Orleans, and I loved traveling to Baton Rouge. I'm not much help, but I AM jealous that you might get to live there.

My husband grew up in Plaquemine and my IL's live in Brusly which is near Plaquemine. My IL's decided not to move back to Plaquemine a few years ago when they moved back to the area because of the schools which is why they decided on Brusly but my BIL was in highschool at the time so I don't know about the elementary schools.

Well, I was born in Baton Rouge, but I haven't been there since I was 2 weeks old! So, I'm no help! lol

There is not a whole lot over in that area but they do have a Walmart in Brusly plus a Sonic and McDonalds!

I live up between Shreveport and Natchitoches but I have a friend who works for the schools in Iberville parish (plaquemine) and if you would like I could help yall exhange email addy's and u and ur hubby could ask him specifics about the area.
