Thumbs up Help me decide what to make next!

Hey guys!

So I need to get started on something for next weekend's release, but I'm not feeling super motivated at the moment. We're remodeling our house, and I've got a lot of stuff distracting me. So, I'd like your help in choosing what to design next.

Show me something to inspire me! A picture (yours or a stock photo, magazine photo, album cover, website, etc) would be awesome, but even a general idea of a theme or kit title you'd like to see would be cool, too. I've got a long list of things that I COULD be working on, but none of them are speaking to me.

So lay it on me! If I choose your idea, I'll give you the kit for free as a thank you.

something I can scrap this with and not have to change the colors of the pic. Doesn't have to be themed.

Thanks, Meghan! I just realized that all I had to do was replace the pictures in my FTP with the resized pictures (done) and it would post correctly. If you just hid the post, you should be able to unhide it. Otherwise I can repost...

Okay, I'm going to try again...

These pics were from a fall walk in the woods overlooking the Potomac River. The leaves were just starting to turn in this area. And, no, I don't think there's such a thing as too many fall kits

hehe well I can assure you that I won't be making a remodeling kit. Heather has an awesome one in the store already, and after all the mess in my house, the last thing I want to think about is doing the same thing in digital form. LOL

Keep the ideas coming! I still don't have a clue what I want to work on!

You always rock a sports kit. I would love to see a karate one also! (Since we own a karate school and all do karate!)

Would you be inspired to do a Christmas kit this early????? I still have a lot of scrapping to do of last Christmas and it is quickly approaching again for this year. I haven't bought one Christmas kit from SSD. All of mine are from Shabby Miss Jenn. I like hers because of the glittery letters and metal embellies. Of course, you could do this because you rock with metal and I love your shabby shimmers alphas! I think you could totally do this in a cool way.

I would love to see a sewing kit - with a sewing machine, lots of stitching elements (xstitch, daisy chain, zigzag stitch, etc.), pattern pieces, a cool wire mannequin, needle and thread elements, fabric patches, pin cushions, scissors, embroidery hoops, maybe some retro stickers of sewing patterns or models from the 50's, AND stitched doodle versions of all the elements.

Or, how about a retro Domestic Goddess fashion couture/shopping kit? There was a very cool paper line similar to this (probably about a year ago) maybe by graphic 45 (in fact it might actually be called Domestic Goddess)? I'll see if I can find a pic of one of the papers.

That's not asking for too much, is it?

Hi Libby! I love the idea of a Martial Arts kit -- maybe an add on or mini-kit that matched (or included as well ) that could also be used for "finding your zen" or peace for the parents too.. So with the usual brights, but maybe a couple of muted papers that match the main theme or work with black/dark brown accents? A bamboo sprig that can be used in the corners or up a page.. could also be used for a (panda page!!). Or ginko leaves to scatter( a ginko leaf brush or outline would be handy too). Stone border or cluster and stones that say peace, tranquility, love, etc...

Hi Again
A music lesson kit? Lots of people have kids in band/orchestra at school or private lessons... piano, voice. Could be used for school recitals or school plays too. Of course, have a guitar as well, so could be used for Rockin' out or Rock Band shots. Adds to the versatility.

Marching band, jazz band, orchestra, piano recital... make sure to have some holiday colors in there too so people could use it for the holiday concerts that happen at school.

Some music that we could put across a page or coming out of an instrument?

Well, I'd like to see something like "Deep Fried Cookie Dough on a Stick" LOL...IOW, a new kit for scrapping the State Fair (or local carnival).

Or perhaps something inspired by s'mores...I think the color combo would be great...and it's a great time of year for sitting around a campfire and roasting a yummy treat (ok, I'd rather just eat the chocolate and graham crackers...but the kiddo loves the marshmallow part)

It is not too early to start a new calendar kit! Your CD/DVD Case Calendar was great last year. Maybe a 2011 one?

Also, border add on kits for your existing kits? Little add on border sets or clusters? Something to put down or across the whole 12x12 page? Or use for card making?

knitting and crocheting with balls of yarn and skeins of yarn ... and ... instead of regular thread stitching ... how about yarn stitching? lil bonnets made of yarn and handknit booties ... lil afghans ... big afghans (think background paper...I could even send you some photographs that could be used as backgrounds...I have 3 different color schemes and 2 different stitch types).... journaling boxes with yarn stitching on them ... or some instructions that are overlapped with a torn paper for journaling ....

Sewing (machine & a needle with thread) ... SERGING ... quiltmaking ... patterns ... lil tomato with pins sticking out of it ... pattern envelopes .... different lil tools you use with sewing (I can give you lots of ideas here) ... including: carbon paper, spiked rolling tool (I can find out name & get pic), pins (use pins instead of staples to hold things ... price tags for journaling), quilting rulers, rolling cutters, self-healing mats (think background paper...with the line markings on it), craft knife, scissors (the kind for sewing ... regular and the pinking shears), the new gadgets that auto make your bias tape ... plus the older kind you had to cut the fabric and then pull it through while ironing (have pics), bobbins, measuring tapes, chalk markers, marking pencils, thread spoons, a background paper of lots of spools of thread,

actual pieced quilts for background papers ... I have quite a few quilts I have made I would photograph for you ... baby and family styles ...

Well I've been looking for bingo card elements but can never find ones to fit my layouts. Sooo, how about an interchangeable bingo card with varying titles and colors? Also, a few small elements to use for the center of the card (like a flower, heart, star etc etc)?

I also would love a karate kit but know that was mentioned already! LOL

Love the idea of a girly dance kit like Jen suggested. I'd also like to see a Girl Scouts-themed kit. I have one, but it's literally the *only* one, and I've got tons of GS pics to scrap.

Here's another idea for a kit that I don't think exists anywhere. My DD has been to tons of b-day parties, carnivals, festivals, etc. with inflatables. You know, the bouncy houses, big slides, etc? I'd love to see a kit featuring those.

Whatever you do, Libby, I'm sure it will be awesome!

LOL i wouldn't mind trying a karate kit, but I know NOTHING about it. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to do it justice. What kinds of things would you look for in a kit like that? I'll need to research it a bit before I could even try it.

LOL Ok, I sent you a PM. It'll probably be a few weeks before I feel up to tackling this one because I'd want to do it justice. But I'll at least start researching and seeing what I can come up with.

I could really use a wedding kit ... I have one from another site ... but would really like to do challenges HERE because it will make me get the album done ... it's a present for my friend for Christmas ...

This one I used some from another designer and some from Krystal (black/white/gray kit) ... but would be good for some color in a kit.

Plus I have my sister's wedding from like 1996 I have NEVER scrapped ... it's all jewel tones ... and I don't want to use black/gray/white for it ...

I'm hopelessly addicted to the Portfolio challenges ...

Good luck with this. I've been wanting to design one too because Jordan is in karate, but it's HARD! I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

I would love to have a kit based on the MN Wild. It doesn't have to be hockey themed (though a few elements or an add on would be awesome), but the colors and the whole wild/wilderness/North Woods theme would be great. Heres a link to the their website: http://wild.nhl.com/

How about a kit to go with a trip to the farmer's market? I took these photos last weekend & have been looking for a kit to scrap them with. I think I am wanting more the color scheme than actual food elements but you could do some cute basket element & maybe some wire elements to go with.

*sigh* I only want a 4-H inspired kit. Four leaf clovers, farm animals, blue ribbons, fences, word art that says "1st place," "Champion," etc. I'd probably be the only one that would use a kit like that but I have a whole list of ideas for one . . .

There are great kits in the store for boys but not all of them work well for a man. I would enjoy a masculine kit (or two) that highlights some of the things the men in our lives love. My first thoughts are an outdoor kit (fishing, hiking, sailing, horseback riding), Home projects kit (tools, painting, building things), a professional sports fan kit(football, basketball, etc.).

Julie had a great fishing kit ... just looked in the store but I guess she retired it. I looked in my stash and a few of the kits that would have worked for a man have been retired ....

Do you like kits with some grunge ... some tatters ... bold colors ... muted colors ... maybe let Libby know a little bit more what you might think would make the kits look a bit more 'mature' and 'masculine'??

Maybe you could use a few of these... images are linked...

I see what you mean ... I am usually so busy scrapping the boys ... that I don't do a lot with my dh.

That being said ....

Libby .... Dolores had a good idea there ... made me start thinking that I probably only do a page or two a year about my dh ... my kids' dad!

Right now my dh is totally into wood working ... wood turning especially ... ok Libby ... I just went down into my husband's work shop and took a lot of pictures ... and can take MORE if you want specifics ... or different angles. Drop me a PM Libby if you are interested in something like this and I will upload the pics to my photobucket or to mediafire if you prefer to download them.

Here are a few of my FAVORITE that dh just turned ...

...and the lathe he turned it on ... his grandfather's ...

...some beautiful walnut wood he has to play with ... I could see papers of different kinds of wood ... zebra wood (my favorite) ... purple heart ... pine ... cherry ... etc.

...and my favorite...isn't it beautiful?

I can take pictures of all the tools he uses, the glues and finishes, sandpaper ... whatever ... if you are interested, LMK. I would love one ...

Lots of good ideas here and I would be interested in having those kits too.

If you do a sewing/crochet kit could you include buttons and a button box. I've been wanting to make a page about my grandma's button box that i used to play with as a kid. Actually it was a tin that she saved buttons off of old clothing that was worn out. Then when something lost a button she would show me what the buttons on the shirt looked like and it was my job to search through the hundreds of buttons in her button box to find something she could use to repair the shirt.

I could also really use a cubscout/boyscout kit or a karate kit.

I'm going to chime in for a karate kit. Preferably something with some red and yellow in it (as long as I'm chiming in.)
