Unhappy Making a Funeral Slideshow

My MIL is in the final days of her battle with cancer, and my FIL has asked me to put together a video/slideshow of photos of her. Has anyone done this? I have no idea where to start, and google isn't really helping.

Oh Kellie, I am so sorry. What a painful task for you, although you will undoubtedly uncover some true gems and the best memories, during such a difficult time will be so bittersweet.

I made a slideshow for kindergarten graduation a few years ago, and one more recently to honor my friend's son who passed away a year ago this past August. If you have Windows Live Movie Maker, it is SUPER easy to make a slideshow and set it to music even if you wanted. The program came with my PC - I'm not sure if you're on PC or Mac but if you're on PC and have that program, I highly recommend it. And can offer you as much help as you need with it.

Big big hugs to your family - it's hard saying goodbye to those who mean the most to us.

I have no idea, but I just want to give you a big squeezy hug and let you know that you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm so sorry Kellie. I did a slideshow using powerpoint (didn't know about windows movie maker) when my MIL passed away from cancer. We selected this song (If you could see me now) to go with the slideshow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBaSLH_3sAw

We made movies using Vegas Video. Don't know if we bought it or if it was free. I think there was a learning curve but it's pretty amazing once you get the hang of it. My BILs made videos for both my mil and fil.

I've only done the program with a collage of photos so i'm no help. I just wanted to give you a big hug and lots of love. It's so hard to lose the ones we love & are closest to. <3 Kellie!

I am so sorry your family is going through this and will keep your family in our prayers! <3 Outside of powerpoint, which is what we've used in the past, I'm not sure how to do it.

Thanks, girls. I appreciate your virtual support. : ) She passed away shortly after I posted, and the funeral is Wednesday. I used powerpoint for the slideshow. Going through her pictures made me think how important it is to be in pictures with our kids! I only found one or two of her with her boys, and I literally only had two of just me and her in the 16 years Joel & I have been married. : ( I wish I'd been more intentional.
